Biography:
With an educational background in management and finance, Brent has excelled in business and in the community throughout his career. In 1991 he founded Greenbacks All-a-Dollar, where he served as CEO and was responsible for growing the company from one to one hundred retail stores in ten states over 12 years. In acknowledgment of Brent?s role in the success of Greenbacks, Ernst & Young awarded him the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001. Under Brent?s leadership, Greenbacks was sold to Dollar Tree in July of 2003. Previous to starting Greenbacks, Brent was a co-founder of Franklin Covey (formerly Franklin Quest).
Currently Brent serves as chairman of the board of two companies: ContentWatch, a top rated internet filtering and employee internet management software; and Naartjie Custom Kids, Inc, a fully integrated design retailer of children?s clothing with15 stores in South Africa and 20 in the US.
Over the years Brent has also served in various capacities in the community. He has previously been a member of the National Steering Committee for the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University for ten years and is now a member of the President?s Leadership Council. He served as the President of the BYU Management Society Salt Lake Chapter, and currently serves as Chairman of the Athletic Leadership Council. He also currently serves on an anti pornography committee called the Citizens against Pornography.
In 1996, he helped found the Single Mom Foundation, which has served thousands of single mothers and their children.
Brent earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Finance from Brigham Young University.
