On Cadre quality in the ROTC
The Cadre in the BYU ROTC program are amazing. They go out of their way to help you if you are having problems and want you to learn as much as you can so you can be a good student and a good officer someday. They really look out for yo.
On being SMP(Simultaneous Membership Program)
SMP is a good program. I feel it is giving me valuable experience as an enlisted soldier that I would not get in another program. I think this experience will help me be a better officer. I won't take any of my soldiers for granted or look down on them, whether it's an NCO or a Private. SMP is also helping me through school.
On what friends and/or family think of your participation in ROTC
Initially my family was very skeptical about my joining the ROT program. They thought it strange that their only daughter would join the Army. But after some time, and after they have seen the things I do, they have warmed up to it and support me all the way. My friends think I am really cool for doing it and always get excited when I am in uniform. They all think that my serving the country this way is awesome.
