James Arguello was raised in the Ogden/Layton area of Utah.  He graduated from Weber High School, Ogden, UT in 1968 and joined the U.S. Army a year later in October 1969.  Mr. Arguello while on active duty was trained as a Wheeled Vehicle Repairman and an Antiarmor Infantryman.  His duty positions included Motor Sergeant, Infantry Squad Leader, Antiarmor Platoon Leader and Antiarmor Company First Sergeant.  Mr. Arguello served in various stateside military posts and overseas in Germany, Korea and Vietnam.  His final assignment on active duty was Senior Army Instructor, Army ROTC, Brigham Young University from August 1989 to October 1993.  Mr. Arguello retired from active duty with the U.S. Army in October 1993 with 24 years time in service.  He returned to employment with the Military Science Department in August 1994 as the Supply Assistant. In April 1997 Mr Arguello was hired as the Bn Supply Technician.
