CIVILIAN AWARDS:

Commander's Award for Civilian Service               

Mr. McLaughlin's military service includes the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Air Force Reserve, and the U.S. Army Reserve.  He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2005.  From 1979 to 1981 he performed church missionary service in the Philippines Davao Mission.  His Federal civil service began in 1986 as a temporary employee for the U.S. Immigration Service, and then for the U.S. Air Force.  From late 1986 to 1992 he was employed as a Reserve Technician in the U.S. Army Reserve with the 1st Bn 410th Infantry located in Iowa City, Iowa.  In this capacity he served as a Unit Administrator and Staff Administrative Assistant.  Mr. McLaughlin began his employment with the Army ROTC Department at Brigham Young University in September 1992.
