Mission Statement


"The Mission of the School of Accountancy is to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life as they cultivate commitment to life-long learning and service, effective and ethical leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, and excellence in the use of accounting, and tax to provide solutions to problems facing family, church, community, and business."

The following five values guide the School of Accountancy at BYU:

Curriculum

To facilitate continuous innovation and improvement of pedagogy, curriculum, instructional materials, and technology.

Faculty

To promote faculty excellence in teaching and research, and to foster an attitude of responsibility and service toward the Church, the University and society.

External Relations

To foster effective partnerships with stakeholders in the SOA and its programs.

Internal Operations

To effectively and efficiently manage the SOA's economic and human resources.

Students

To educate student with accounting skills leadership abilities, and ethical values that will enhance the students' opportunities for success in worldwide organizations.
