Pre-Information Systems Core

In addition to declaring your major, you need to complete the following Pre-Information Systems Core courses:

A student with extensive previous Excel and/or PowerPoint experience may demonstrate his/her skills by receiving a “B” or higher grade in the equivalent ISys100 and ISys101 transfer course(s) or by showing an MOS or MCAS Certification. ISys100 and Isys101 credit will be respectively recorded on your transcript by using the challenge exam forms available from the Advisement Center in 460 TNRB.

The Pre-Information Systems Core must be completed with at least a 3.0 average GPA (a grade of B or better is required in I Sys 201 and I Sys 303) with no more than one repeat for each course. Repeated and transfer courses will be discounted 0.33 of a grade during the admissions process-for example, from an "A" to an "A-". Acceptance is based on the candidate's Pre-Information Systems Core GPA, Overall GPA, and review of the applicants' academic record and essay. Please note that meeting or exceeding admission criteria does not guarantee admission.

Pre-Management Core

In addition to the Pre-Information Systems Core courses, the following courses are not pre-requisites to your applying to the Information Systems program, but are courses that must be completed before starting the Management Core.

Econ 110, Math 116, Math 118, and Stat 121 can be taken prior to applying to the BSIS program. These courses should be completed as soon as possible. In addition, these courses should be completed before entering the MISM program.
