Degree RequirementsAfter gaining acceptance to the program, you will start the Junior Core courses in the fall semester of the year you apply. The Junior Core courses are listed below. In addition to the Junior Core courses, the Management Core courses and a few other courses are required in order to graduate with a BSIS degree. Information about the Management Core courses and the other required courses are also outlined below. Junior CoreOverviewFull of team work, problem solving, and mentally straining activities, the Junior Core provides students with rich exposure to the world of Information Systems. Students are randomly assigned to four-person groups for both the Fall and Winter semesters of the Junior Core. To describe the intensity and demands of the Junior Core, Gary Hansen, an Information Systems Professor, shares his infamous advice at each Junior Core orientation meeting. He says, "Kiss your spouse/significant other good-bye, and tell him/her, 'See you in April!'" Even though you will devote a significant amount of time to the demands of the Junior Core, you will leave the Junior Core having a rich understanding of essential business principles and technology application. I Sys 401, 402, 403 and 414 must be taken concurrently during Fall Semester, and I Sys 404, 411, 413 and 415 must be taken concurrently during Winter Semester. Management CoreThe Management Core is designed to equip students with the essential business, marketing, supply-chain, and organizational skills needed to excel in the business world. You will need to complete the Pre-Management Core courses outlined on the Pre-Requisites page. Courses in the Management Core are listed below. Students accepted to the MISM program will not take the Management Core, but will take a graduate-level equivalent instead. Management Core

Because of the lock-step nature of the Information Systems Core and the Integrated Management Core, pay careful attention to scheduling courses during the Junior and Senior years. You may visit the Advisement Center (460 TNRB) for help planning your schedule. A "B" or higher grade performance level is required in each Junior Core course in order to apply to the Masters Degree of Information Systems (MISM) program.
