Program Overview

The Marriott School BS Recreation Management program consists of sixty-four credit hours in addition to general university core classes. The program prepares students through rigorous course work, hands-on experience, and mentored career preparation. A special emphasis is placed on experiential learning as well as application of management knowledge to the field of recreation, events, and venues.

After completing pre-management courses and gaining acceptance into the program, students must complete the recreation management junior core which provides them with exposure to business functions and management skills. Students also complete a sequence of courses according to the emphasis they choose. All recreation management students must complete an internship in order to graduate.

In addition to active engagement in classes, students are encouraged to participate in clubs and be proactive in their networking efforts. By fully immersing themselves in the recreation management program, students will have the optimal Marriott School experience.
