Business Management 371R: Entrepreneur Lecture Series

One of the most popular classes on campus, the Entrepreneur Lecture Series, is a repeatable course offered to any student on campus who is interested in entrepreneurship.

The course consists of a weekly one-hour lecture by successful entrepreneurs and business persons on subjects significant to entrepreneur-type opportunities. These entrepreneurs frequently discuss the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship and give the students advice on getting started, being successful in business, and growing the business. The entrepreneurs also discuss the five phases of an entrepreneur's business:

  1. Concept and planning
  2. Startup
  3. Growth
  4. Maturity
  5. Harvest

Lecture Series Blog

The Entrepreneur Lecture Series is offered in the Fall and Winter semesters at both 2:00pm and 4:00pm Mondays and Tuesdays. It fulfills the lecture series requirement for both a Business Minor and the Business Management Major at BYU. (Other options include the Executive Lecture Series on Thursdays and the eBusiness Lecture Series on Wednesdays.)

The Center for Entrepreneurship also offers two sections of Entrepreneur Leadership in the Fall and Winter semesters on Fridays. Being an Entrepreneur can be an exciting way to live a full and rewarding life and can transfer into a successful family, devoted and edifying church service, and being of worth to the community. The aim of this course is to help students realize their ability to positively influence others and change the world around them. Throughout the semester various Entrepreneur Leaders are brought in to share their personal experiences and successes with students.  This class is one of the highest rated in the Business School and continues to be a favorite among students of all majors.
