Golf Outing
The Founders' kicked off this fall's conference with golfing at Riverside Country Club.

Chad Hawkins
Chad Hawkins, author of "The First 100 Temples" was the keynote speaker at Thursday evening's affair. Chad entertained the many Founders and guests with his artwork, including his largest piece, "Spring at Temple Square". "The First 100 Temples will give us a new appreciation for these modern-day monuments to sacrifice, hard work, and faith," stated Hawkins. He also spoke of the incredible privilege it has been to research information about the temples, and shared some personal miraculous experiences in his role as author-artist. Autographed copies of his book were given to all those in attendance.

Spouses' Activities
Founder spouses and friends enjoyed the “Empire of the Sultans” exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art. The display exemplified the glory, art, and piety of the once-feared Ottoman Empire. Later they joined Founders for lunch to hear Stephen Gibson speak on service entrepreneurship in the Philippines. Following lunch the spouses met again to hear some missionary experiences from Paula Wilson and to get to know each other better. The theme of the afternoon session was “Especially for You . . . it’s all about you.”

John Reim
John Reim from BYU-TV reported on the growth of BYU cable television within the last year. Millions of households all over the world can now receive BYU programs. This communication link has allowed for BYU to televise educational, family, and religious programs.

Part of the success of BYU-TV is the presence of student workers who have fresh ideas, work hard, and work cheap. By providing great work experience and internships, the BYU-TV and student relationship becomes the ideal for both parties. Through this relationship BYU-TV is able to produce incredible service at an incredibly cheap price relative to other television networks.

Mentoring
Over 100 students and nearly 20 Founders participated in the One-on-One Mentoring and Panel discussions held during the Friday afternoon session. Panel discussion topics included "10 Keys to Success," "Will This Idea Fly," and "How to Finance Your Start Up." One student was quoted as saying, "This has been an awesome experience—meeting with the Founders. When are you going to do it again?" A special thanks to the Founders who helped make the mentoring and panel sessions a success.
