Spring 2004

Dinner in the Skyroom
Entrepreneur Founders and friends gathered together for a good meal and good company at the inaugural event of the Spring 2004 Founders Conference. BYU's winning MBA team from the national Thunderbird Innovation Challenge and Dave Bateman of Property Solutions were the featured speakers.

Breakfast Buffet, A Few Words from Steve Albrecht, and Guest Introductions
Few things say "Good morning" better than a breakfast buffet loaded with a variety of fruits, meats, pastries, and juices. As they ate, Founders and guests enjoyed presentations from the Assistant Dean of the Marriott School, "The Ladder Man" Hal Wing and others, concluding with a hilarious Oscar Meyer "commercial" featuring children from the Polynesian Cultural Center and a special gift for our departing Chairman of the Board and his wife.

Case Study Activity
Expanding the niche for family-edited media was the focus of this Spring's Case Study Activity as company heads from Utah-based CleanFilms, Inc., enlisted students to develop a marketing and operations strategy designed to increase its customer base while preserving the business culture.

Spouse Luncheon
It was female bonding at its peak as Founders Spouses gathered for an uplifting hour of sharing stories and bearing testimonies. Special guest Gene Nelson from the Provo Public Library extolled the virtues of children's literature, and helped reacquaint this lively (yet educational) art form with the mothers and grandmothers assembled.

Business Plan Competition 2004
The Joseph Smith Auditorium was filled to capacity as this year's semifinalists in the BPC vied for their share of over $120,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. Read all about the competition, then check out a special slide show featuring 42 high-quality images from the 2004 blockbuster event.
