Dr. Glenn L. Christensen
Brand Management, Consumer Behavior

  • PhD - Penn State (Smeal), MBA - BYU (Marriott)
  • Multiple teaching awards, including the international Marketing Management Association Teaching Excellence Awards 2008
  • Multiple awards for research, including the Nicosia Competitive Award at Association for Consumer Research Conference

Dr. Christensen's scholarship focuses on the psychology of consumer behavior, the confusion in the minds of consumers caused by competing trademarks, and consumption expectations created by the end-user.  He teaches marketing strategy and brand management here at the Marriott School.  He loves to play and coach basketball, and hit the slopes when the snow flies.

Dr. Scott M. Smith
Marketing Research, High-Tech Marketing

Dr. Smith specializes in internet-based market segmentation, customer satisfaction and product development research.  He develops advanced survey software and research systems (Founder of Qualtrics, Inc.) and likes skiing, consulting and cross cultural research.

Dr. R. Bruce Money
International Marketing, Negotiations

  • PhD - Cal. Irvine, MBA - Harvard Business School
  • Served as partner in a consultancy to William E. Simon, former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury
  • Conducts Executive Training Seminars worldwide, including Nissan, Bayer, and Fuji Film

Prior to joining BYU in 2004, Dr. Money served nine years on the faculty of the University of South Carolina, where he received the business school's highest teaching honor in 2000, the Alfred G. Smith Jr. Award.  He has ten years of professional and non-profit experience including Vice President in the Los Angeles office of The Sakura Bank, Ltd. (now Sumitomo Mitsui), one of the world's largest banks.

Dr. Gary K. Rhoads
Entrepreneurship, Sales Management

  • PhD - Texas Tech University, BS - Zoology
  • Active researcher in entrepreneurial marketing strategy focusing on identifying marketing tactics that lead to start-up success
  • Past Chairman of the Board and Co-founder of Allegiance.com

Dr. Rhoads holds the Stephen Mack Covey Professorship in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.  He has published articles in the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Market Research Society, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Journal of Retailing, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Marketing Science Institute, and various AMA proceedings.

Dr. David B. Whitlark
Entrepreneurship, Market Strategy

  • Former VP, Director of Research, Wirthlin Worldwide

Dr. Whitlark is the J.C.Penney Professor of Marketing.  He teaches Marketing Management in the core MBA program as well as the Pricing and Positioning Tools and Entrepreneurial Marketing MBA electives.  Professor Whitlark has published over 30 articles and two books, and holds a daily record with the fastest lap time for the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
