Rotaract is the collegiate division of Rotary International. As a club, we focus on three objectives:
“The network of friendship, the fantastic possibilities to get involved with worldwide understanding, and the interesting and dedicated members I meet are the main reasons why I am a member of a Rotaract club.”
–Oliver Lange, Rotaract club of Offenburg, Germany
Where: Brigham Square (between the BYU library and bookstore)
When: 11:00pm-2:00pm next Thursday (Oct.25)
What: A friend of ours donated boxes of used eye glasses to benefit a small city in Argentina. This coming Tuesday and Thursday we will help clean and prepare these glasses for the Argentinean children who live there. There will be food and drinks provided.
Become a Leader! All the leaders of the Rotaract club change every year. The nomination process is as follows:
1) Review the Leadership Positions list. These positions require a one–year commitment (May 2007 – May 2008). At least the president and vice president are encouraged (and assisted financially) to attend a regional or international conference during the summer following his/her installment. See www.rotary.org and www.uscc2006.org respectively for more details.
2) The nominator (you CAN nominate yourself) must write a short paragraph explaining why the person is qualified for the position.
3) Email the nomination to byurotaractclub@gmail.com – the date when nominations are due will be announced.
Note – If you would like to be in a leadership position for the 2007/2008 school year and it is already partway into the year, email Jason Gregory at jason.s.gregory@gmail.com with what you are interested in.
All current BYU students are invited and welcome to join the Rotaract Club. Club registration and payment of dues ($10/semester or $15/year) is done online. When you are ready to register, have your credit card ready and log in at the Marriott School Club Registration login page. Follow the given instructions. If you must pay by check, don’t use the online system. Come to 490 TNRB, and the secretary will take your check and enter you into the system.
If you already signed up and paid your dues, but are not listed as a member in the link above, please send an email with your name, netID, and email address to byurotaractclub@gmail.com stating that you have already paid. If you have any other problems logging in to the site, send an email to byurotaractclub@gmail.com with your name, netID, and email address.
