Biography:

Joan Dixon has an EdD in International Development Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has been doing international development work since 1985 and has worked in Nigeria, The Gambia, Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand. As one of the co-founders of the Action Against Poverty network, she is responsible for setting up workshops to help member NGOs develop their effectiveness and capacity. Currently, she is teaching a course on Organizational Development for NGOs at BYU and doing consulting work.
