Wendy Rimer
Making Cents
“Micro Entrepreneur Training”

Biography:

Ms. Rimer has over 10 years of experience in education and training and has worked in the U.S., Latin America and Africa:

  • providing entrepreneurship training for NGOs in microenterprise development;
  • managing basic education and vocational education projects for the World Bank in Uganda, Zambia, and Colombia;
  • developing and implementing gender equity training with the Equity in the Classroom Project (funded by USAID) at Creative Associates International in eight countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America; and
  • teaching bilingual (Spanish/English) elementary education in the U.S.

Ms. Rimer received her M.A. at University of California San Diego, Graduate School of International Relations Pacific Studies and her B.A. at Duke University, NC. She speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Ms. Rimer joined Making Cents in 2003 as Vice President and Training Specialist. Making Cents is a woman-owned international consulting firm that specializes in increasing the capacity of financial and business service providers to better deliver services to micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs worldwide. Making Cents builds this capacity through the provision of training curricula and training-of-trainers courses. Making Cents works with a wide variety of institutions, including: business associations, financial institutions, local consulting firms, NGOs, training centers, government agencies and schools. The ultimate beneficiaries of the capacity building and training process are entrepreneurs ranging from youth to adults, women and men, illiterates to graduates of tertiary-level education.
