Extended Reach Program

In harmony with the Mission of the Marriott School of Management to emphasize Education, Research, Outreach and Friendship, the Extended Reach Program works to build an internal climate that respects difference by attracting, developing, and mentoring men and women from diverse cultures and ethnic origins. The Mission of the Extend Reach Program is to:
  • Help students learn to apply their business and leadership skills through assisting communities, including the Church, that are increasingly diverse.
  • Provide students with opportunities to practice business problem-solving and needs assessment as they partner with those community-based organizations that provide services to individuals and groups from different cultures and across a broad economic spectrum.
  • Empowering students who respect difference and understand the nexus of economic and social well-being, to become civic-minded and engaged in their communities.
The focus of the Extended Reach Program is threefold: internal climate-building, financial aid, and mentoring.

Internal Climate

Efforts are continuous to improve the internal climate of the Marriott School to be supportive to underrepresented minority students and to provide non-minority students with both cultural awareness and sensitivity to diversity issues so they can be more effective in today’s diverse workforce.

This has led to the creation of the Extended Reach Scholarships which provide generous scholarships to qualified students who desire to earn a graduate management degree at the Marriott School of Management.
