Costs and Financial Aid

Tuition Costs

The cost of the Executive MBA program is $38,000 (approximately $717 x 53 credit hours)* for the full two-year program. This includes:
  • Tuition
  • Textbooks and class materials
  • Travel and lodging expenses for the Foreign Business Excursion

These costs are divided into six equal payments throughout the program.

*Costs are subject to change.

Employer Sponsorship

Employer sponsorship is encouraged, but not required. Several businesses in the area fund some or all of their employees' tuition. They find the MBA education beneficial to the whole organization, as EMBA students are able to incorporate new management insights from the classroom into the workplace.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is available through the BYU Financial Aid Office. All questions about financial aid or the information posted below should be directed there.

Student Loans

  • Stafford Loans are handled through the BYU Financial Aid office. Many students are eligible for this guaranteed loan sponsored by the United States government.
  • MBA Loans has been a leader in providing the most convenient and affordable loans to students pursuing a graduate business degree. The program is sponsored by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

  • It is important to note that the Executive MBA program is considered by BYU to be a part-time graduate program, even though students are enrolled full-time during certain semesters and terms. The credit hour schedule is listed below:

    Disbursements

Stafford Loan disbursements are scheduled to coincide with the regular university semester/term start dates. For all EMBA academic periods other than Summer 2007, students must arrange their financing to pay tuition on or before the established due dates, regardless of Stafford Loan disbursement dates. A deadline extension will be granted to you Summer 2007 if you notify the MBA office that you are receiving a Stafford Loan.

    Deferrals

Deferral of a Stafford Loan is not automatic upon enrollment in a program of graduate study. There are several categories under which a deferral can be obtained; some are precluded by the fact that the Executive MBA program is considered a part-time program. It is important that you determine your individual situation by reviewing the laws governing Stafford Loan deferrals.

    Reimbursement Documentation

The MBA office will provide employer reimbursement documentation to students as needed. The turnaround time for grades, transcripts, and reimbursement letters is one month from the end of a semester or term. We cannot guarantee that reimbursement documentation will be provided in time for students to receive reimbursement from their companies before the next tuition payment is due. Students are responsible to pay tuition when it is due, regardless of whether they have received reimbursement from their company.
