Go Eagles!

Dear Fellow Eagles,

The intent of this web site is to keep a current list of all of us so we can stay close through the years and miles. If you have a web page/email address, please email me and I will create a link to it. If you don't have a web page, you can email me with messages telling us what you're up to and I will post them.

I've listed below all of us and my best guess as to what we are doing. Please let me know of any updated info. This page is linked to and from our Class of 1991 Web Site .

Roll Call

Nick Baer: The last time I saw Nick was in a mess hall in Kelley Hill, Fort Benning, Ga where we were both stationed. He was with 2/69 Armor and it was about October of 1993. Got a 10/2/98 email from Nick. "I left the army (Ft. Benning) June 15, 1995 and immediately traveled to Syracuse for my June 17th wedding. Jill Ann and I moved to Buffalo where she is pursuing her Law and MBA degrees. At the same time, I started my MBA studies in corporate finance. After completing my first year of full-time studies and working as a second shift manufacturing supervisor, I was recruited by Xerox to be a logistics supervisor. That cut my studies to a part-time basis and prompted us to move to Rochester. I will however be finishing my MBA this December. At present I am a financial analyst in Xerox's Channels Group, where they manufacture cartridges for ink jet printers."

Jimmy Brau: I married Michelle in July 1991. We now have six children. After three years at FT Benning (IOBC, Ranger School, Airborne, Pathfinder, Bradley Course, and serving as a Platoon Leader with the 24th Infantry Division) we transferred into the national guard. I was in the Florida National Guard (Infantry) for 3 years and then the IRR for another 2 years and finally got out as a Captain. During that time I went to FSU and earned a PhD in Finance. We moved to Utah in April 1999 where I took a job as a professor of finance at Brigham Young University. In 2005, I earned tenure and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. If anyone ever wants to come to Utah to ski or visit, we'll leave the light on. Click here if you want to see more info from my home page. Our home phone is 801.489.4567.

Jan (Clark) Malaikal: While we were still at Benning Jan married Matt Malaikal. The last letter I got from them was Christmas 1997. From a 9/10/98 email: "Right now I am stationed at Johnston Atoll." Jan is preparing to transfer to Boston where she will continue to work with the Corps of Engineers. I received a Christmas 1998 card from Jan. She is doing well and is excited to change tours in May. From a 5/9/99 email: "I leave Johnston Island this week enroute for Boston, then onto CAS3, and back to Boston again. I will be working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District." From a 10/9/2000 email: Jimmy, Sue (Henessey) Filburns is chairing the reunion committee. The AOG is working with us on getting a date but since we are in a new football conference, they haven't been able to pin down what weekend Homecoming will be, which will be when our reunion is. Sue is in touch with the same hotel that hosted the 5-year reunion, I'm just not sure of the name (and it could change if we don't get a committed date for Homecoming soon). In the mean time, we are raising funds for the class gift. Pat Quinn is coordinating the effort for E-3. He will have some information to mail out about the goals, timelines, etc. as soon as I get it and send it to him (hopefully this week). Hope all is well. It's cold here in Boston! Take care, Jan. From a 12/12/00 email, "I'm at 140 Independence Court, Hanscom Air Force Base, MA 01731 (I know--it's quite a step down in life to live on an Air Force Base!)."

Erika (Cramer) Granville: Erika lives in California.

Brad Doebel: Received an email November 1997 from Dobes. It read: "J B., Hope you're doing well and keep me uprised of any ongoings in the co. or if you are in need of help. I'm up here going to Notre Dame trying to get re-edumicated."

Jon Elkin

Robyn Ferguson: From a 2/2/99 email: "I spent my first assignment with 18th MI Bn in Augsburg, GE, and the second with 1st CAV in Fort Hood, TX. Almost decided to get out in Spring 98, but stuck it out and am now stationed at DLI in Monterey, CA. I'm now in line for command. Once I finish command, I'll get to start my FAO training in Chinese. I'm pretty excited about it. Finally, something I really will enjoy - 100%. I'm really enjoying life in Montery. It's a beautiful place, and if any of the Eagles ever need a place to crash, give me a call: (831) 582-0814 - you're always welcome. I should be here thru May 2002." From a 5/1/2000 email: To all eagles, Greetings - haven't checked my hotmail in a while, so I've been doing a little catching up. Nice to see what's going on with everyone. I continue to live at DLI -- am looking forward to starting Chinese in Jan 2001-- If you're ever in the area, give me a ring --831-582-0814 or DSN 878-6656; Address is 3184 Vista Del Camino; Marina, CA 93933. Don't have any good gossip on my end -- Take it easy. Robyn F. From a 8/19/02 email, "recently moved and thought it best to update you on where I live now. This summer, I moved from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. I'll be attending the Army CGSC until June 03 and from there will return to the "real Army". Life is good here in Kansas. I have no complaints. The move from California went well. My mom decided to drive with me. She was great company, it made the miles pass quickly, and gave us a chance to catch up. Imagine if you will the picture of her, me, and two large dogs driving from CA to KS. It really happened. If you're ever traveling cross country & need a place to crash, my doors are always open. Kansas City is only 1/2 hour away, and I have lots of space! Here's all my info: Robyn Ferguson; 106 Timbercreek Circle; Lansing, KS 66043; (913)-727-1062; (831)-601-1873(cell/voice mail); Take care, Robyn."

Dave Filer: Following is an exerpt from Jo's October 1, 1997 email: "I was at Fort Bragg with Dave Filer. Saw Rachel too. They have a boy. We were together at the Founder's Day dinner in March 96. At that time, he was the S1 for the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division." From a 7/10/99 email from Dave, "Here's a brief run down on the Filers. Rachael and I were stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga. with 2-7 IN (1st BDE, 24 ID) We had our first kid there (Joshua Aaron--he's 4 1/2years old now and is the spitting image of his mother). Went to Infantry Advance Course at Benning, and was then stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where I was a Battalion S-1, Asst S-3, and Company Commander in the 1st BN, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Gave up command in April and did a little Brigade Asst S-3 time. We had our second child at Bragg (Jacob Adam, he's 13 months old now and is the spitting image of me--weird, huh). We are currently living in Apex, NC, waiting for grad school to start. I am going to Duke University in August to earn a Masters in political science to (you probably guessed it) go back and teach in the department of Social Sciences. Looks like you guys will have a place to stay for our 10th year reunion (that's if there is room--expecting boy #3 in September! We'll call this one "Oops" actually we're planning on naming him Jonothan Abel). The Lord has been good to us, and we have been fortunate with our time in the Army thus far Hope all is well with everyone! If anyone is in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area in the next two years, please stop by and see us: Dave and Rachael Filer 830 Homestaed Park Dr. Apex, NC 27502 (919) 387-2903 GO EAGLES!" From a 9/10/01 email, "Fellow Eagles,   As I was walking back from Hayes Gym last Friday morning, I glanced up at Washington Hall, and hanging from it was a single banner that simply said "E3." It's good to know that the "Where Eagles Dare" spirit is alive and kicking! As you probably know, we ended up losing the game to Cincinnati anyways (a hell of a game by the way), but then again, it's comforting to know that other things haven't changed! (Well, with the exception of "A-Man" who now looks like a pirate, and the addition of "A-Woman" a cross between Xena Warrior Princess and God knows what else (she kept my rapt attention for at least the first half until the game started getting interesting!) ) It's also good to know that "the Corps has" as it always does. Really, they seem to be good kids, and I am having a great time being an instructor. Believe it or not, with all the extra curricular activities, extra duties, etc..., I am as busy as I was in command! So, we are here, and want to extend an invitation to those of you coming back for the reunion to a "victory party" following the football game over at our quarters. I'm thinking burgers, dogs, keg of beer, etc..., really would love to see you guys again. Rachael and I probably won't be going to any of the formal events (just because our kids are pretty much CDC'd (child care development centered) out with other stuff this semester that we are pretty much required to attend. I will probably attend the parade and the game, but not any of the formal stuff. We live in the relatively new Stoney II housing development right across from the PX and the Commissary--easy to get to, and close to the stadium. Let me know if anyone is interested. Can't wait to catch up with the Eagles! Dave New Contact Info: 3128-C Radiere Loop West Point, NY 10996 H: (845) 446-1396. Hope to hear from you! David P. Filer; CPT, Infantry; Department of Social Sciences; 202 Lincoln Hall; Office: (845) 938-3499; E-Mail: jd9704@usma.edu.

Tony Garcia: Tony married Monique Ingram shortly after graduation and moved to Hawaii. He ETSd from Hawaii and moved to California. He has been employed at Willamette Industries for the last 2.5 years and serves as the maintenance superintendent at the corrugated plant he has worked at since Jan of 95. Tony and Monique currently have 2 children. From a 10/28/98 email: "I am not sure if Monique and I passed on the information about our newest daughter. She was born in July so I am hoping that we did. If we didn't, I apologize as we were in the middle of buying a house and having a baby all at the same time. We now have 3 children (Courtney 3.75, Ryan 1.6, and Sarah 3 Months), a backyard, and a large commute. As far as the reunion is concerned, count us in!! We will see everyone in a couple of years." We saw Tony, Monique and they're children this summer (2000) when they came through Utah. Had a fun lunch with them in the back yard. To see a recent picture of Tony with his children, click here. From a 7/6/01 email, "Dear Eagles, Just wanted to let everyone know that Monique and I will be at the reunion and are planning on attending the football game as well. We fly in Thursday night and leave Sunday around mid-day. As an update, Monique and I are doing very well. We have three children now (Courtney - 6, Ryan - 4.5, Sarah 3). We are still working for Willamette Industries. I have just taken a promotion from Plant Manager to Project Engineer that moved us to the company headquarters in Portland, Oregon. We are extremely excited to be back in the great Northwest. Hey Neusch, I read an article sometime ago in the USA Today about JMO's transitioning into the corporate world. Somehow you where one of the main people interviewed. How did that happen?!!! Anyway, we are looking forward to spending a wonderful weekend at the reunion and seeing everyone again. I hope all is going well for everyone." From a 6/26/02 email, "Just a quick heads up. Monique and I are moving our family to Bowling Green, KY! After surviving the fallout from the hostile takeover, I have taken a promotion with Weyerhaeuser as the Director of Technical Education for the packaging division. I will have 5 direct reports and responsibility for the development of the quality managers and the quality program within our 106 Corrugating plants. In addition, I will be responsible for the technical training of supervisors and operators in those plants, focusing primarily upon reducing setup times, improving run rates, decreasing downtime and waste and finally improving maintenance management and techniques for the division. Given the fact that my existing job with Willamette had been eliminated, I was glad to take the promotion! Our children are doing very well. Courtney is now 7 and will start the 2nd grade this fall. Ryan is 5 and looking forward to kindergarten. Sarah turns 4 in July and is ready for pre-school. Both Courtney and Ryan are avid baseball fans and I find myself playing baseball in the backyard almost every night. They love to come to the plate and name themselves as one of the "real" player for their at bat. Their obvious favorites thus far have been Ichiro, Ken Griffey Jr., Mark McGuire, Jason Giambi, Nomar Garciaparra, Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez. Courtney has started batting from both sides of the plate and does so very well. Well, that's it for now. If anyone happens to be in the Nashville, TN area or anywhere in KY, please feel free to look us up. I will have an address and phone number to add to the site sometime within the next month. Anthony"

Edward Givens: From a 7/20/98 email from Ike: "I also heard from Ed Givens recently. His wife is an Army doctor at Fort Hood, and he works for Merril Lynch in Austin (i.e., he has a VERY long commute to work each day). They live in Harker Heights with their two year old daughter." From a 7/25/98 email: "Missy, Aja, and I are all doing well here. We have been in our new home for almost one month now. I am not a broker yet, but as soon as I complete my licensing exams I will be. The only other big news around here (which is a mixed blessing) is that Missy is going to Bosnia for 6 months in September. At least we will get it over with at the beginning of her tour."

Rob Haffey: Last I heard from Rob and Regina was at Christmas. The Paraan Newsletter reported that Rob and Regina were at Bragg and had enjoyed their 4.5 years in Europe. From the Jo email (Oct 1, 1997), "Rob and Reg Haffey are still in Bragg. He is in the same unit I was the SIGO for, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment (part of DIVARTY). He was the Fire Support Officer for one of the infantry battalions (325th AIR)." From a 12/12/00 email there current address is: Robert M. Haffey II & Regina M. Haffey; 3058 Rothbury Way #8; East Lansing, MI 48823; 517-351-1842. From a 2/3/2001 email, "Hello everyone. There are so many people that I haven't talked to in so long. I just wanted to let everyone know we were still alive. I ended my service with the Army on Dec 29, 2000. For the month of January, I was in Somerville, New Jersey getting trained for my new job. I am a sales representative for Gynecare which is a division of Ethicon, Inc (Johnson and Johnson). I will be working with gynecologists and urologists in the operating rooms as basically a consultant for the use of our products. We sell products that allow for less invasive alternatives to hysterectomies. We also sell products that help correct some forms of incontinence and infertility in women. I interviewed with 15 different companies at the Cameron Brooks Career Conference last November. Out of all of them, this was my first choice from the start so I'm very excited to work for them. We will continue to live in Michigan for the next 6-12 months. However, I will be traveling frequently between Michigan, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis. After about 6-12 months, we'll move to another more permanent territory (location to be determined). That's about all there is. I didn't want to write a book because I know I wouldn't have read it if it was sent to me. I hope everyone is doing well. To those of you that I called on for help through the transition, I really appreciated all of the help and advice. To my fellow Eagles, I can't wait to see you all at the reunion. Take care everyone." From a 9/19/2001 email, "Hello,Gina and I recently moved again. So far this year, we have been in East Lansing, MI; Milwaukee, WI; and now Omaha, NE. Even the Army didn't move us around this much. We should be here to stay for awhile. By the way, that's a good thing. The last place I ever thought we would live was in the center of the US, however, Omaha is really nice. I am still working for a Johnson & Johnson company called Gynecare. I sell minimally invasive surgical devices for women's healthcare. Gina started a new job about a month ago. She works for another Fortune 500 company, ConAgra. She is the executive assistant to the VP for Marketing Strategy. ConAgra produces many name brands like Healthy Choice, Hunt's, Slim Jim, Banquet, Butterball, etc. She is hoping to move up and into Marketing. We just recently bought our second house. We are still renting the one in NC until the market in that community gets better. Who knows what'll happen now if the 82nd Airborne Division deploys somewhere. I hope nobody was directly affected by the recent events in NYC and DC. Fortunately for us, our family and friends that work near the WTC were unharmed. Well, all I wanted to do was update everyone on our new info. Hope to run into you all again someday. Rob and Gina Haffey. Rob's email: runswithscissors69@home.com . Gina's emai: 22peony@home.com; 1611 N. 159th St; Omaha, NE 68118; (402) 614-4951." From a 11/15/04 email, “Hey everybody. Gina and I are finally having our first baby. We just found out today that it is most likely a boy but we’ll get a better quality ultrasound next Tuesday 11/23. The baby is due 4/13/05, a month and a half before our 14th Wedding Anniversary. That’s gotta be a record. I hope everyone is doing well. I’m about to leave this job and work for another company so a better email would be robhaffey@cox.net for future messages. From a 12/6/05 email, “Jimmy, et al, I received your last email and meant to reply with an update about us. Briefly, Gina and I finally had a baby. And after only 14 years of marriage. He is 7.5 months old and is wonderful. I finally understand what everybody has felt for so long already. His name is Keeghan Michael and was 9lbs, 4oz & 22 inches at birth. He still is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. I think that the stork accidentally dropped off the Giant family’s baby with us and gave them ours like in the old Looney Toons episode if anyone knows what I’m talking about. However, Gina and I didn’t think we would have enough stress in our lives so we decided to leave Omaha and move to Chicago and start a new career. I started the new job 2 weeks after Keeghan was born and then we moved out here in July. I still work for Johnson & Johnson but in the Cardiovascular industry now. On Halloween, while Gina and Keeghan were handing out candy, a guy with his boys asked who went to West Point (because of my license plate holder). He said he went there and graduated in ’91. His name is John Leib I4. Anyone know him? His Howitzer pic looked a little familiar but I’m not sure. He only lives 8 doors down. What a small world. Haven’t had a chance to talk to him yet. Has anyone asked Eddy G why the Army team sucks so badly? I couldn’t bring myself to watch this year. Maybe JJ and TK can comment? Oh yeah, they were JV J. And, Filer you were just at West Point. Were you too easy on them? Please note my new contact info below. I hope everyone is doing well. Is there a 15 year reunion? Or do we have to wait 6 more years to all get together again? Neusch are you still not talking to me? Robyn, How is Korea? Have you been able to see your husband much? Q, What’s next for you? Are you returning to CONUS soon? Say hi to Katie and the kids. Voicemail: 800-447-7585 x1932. Mobile: 815-404-4796. Fax: 815-425-9333. Address: 1115 Autumn Dr, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Email: rhaffey@crdus.jnj.com.”

John Isakson: From a 1/5/98 email - "I got out of the Army at the three year mark. I jumped around through a few jobs, and now I work at Motorola as an electrical engineer. I'm going to school part time and will be done with my master's degree in May. As you probably know, Marcia Geiger and I got married after she graduated. We had our first child in November of 1996. The baby was a six pound girl who we named Grace. Marcia won a Hertz Foundation Fellowship and went to grad school immediately after West Point. She got a master's in Physics then went and did her Army time. They let her out early, too, at the five year mark. Now she's back in school working on her PhD at the University of Texas at Austin." From a 7/20/98 email: "I've changed jobs again. I now work for IBM in Austin on the Giga Project, the goal of which is to produce a computer (RS/6000) that runs at 1 GigaHertz. We are building a new house here in Austin which should be done in December, the same time that our next child is due (a boy this time!). We are moving into an apartment this weekend, because our current house sold quicker than we expected it would. But that's okay, our apartment is very close to where I work. It's also about two blocks down from where Snake lives. He's going to help us move." Ike's work email is jisakson@us.ibm.com. Click here to see Marcia's webpage. From a 10/23/98 email: "Nicholas Geiger Isakson was born Tuesday October 20th at 3:22 p.m. at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz., was 19 inches long, and was six weeks early. Yes, he would have been a whopper if he'd gone to term. He's needing a little extra care at the hospital since he was so early, but he should be just fine in about ten days. Our daughter was six weeks early, too, and she is fine. He came the "old-fashioned" way. The anesthesiologist was smoking and joking too long down the hall and didn't get Marcia's epidural done in time. So she's got something in common with the old pioneer women. p.s. Hoy, don't pat yourself on the back too much over the kid's name." Congrats on the Texas Size addition!

Gary Jeter: From a 10/5/98 email: "Its me, Gary Jeter. I'm still in the Army. I'm stationed in Katterbach, Germany awaiting command which should happen in MAR 99. After flight school, I married Kara Geisler in June 93. If you can believe it, we now have three children, Dana (4 years), Hannah (2 years) and Kevin (1 year). I was stationed at Fort Stewart with Dave Filer and Pat Quinn as my first assignment. After the advanced course, I came to Germany which the first five months I spent in Bosnia. Germany is a lot of fun." From a 12/28/98 email, Jete just returned from CAS3 at Ft. Leavenworth. In the email, Jete extends an invitation for any Eagle wishing to explore Germany up until AUG 2000. "I offer an open invitation to stay at my house. It is a huge house with a vacant downstairs apartment with kitchen. I will even pick you up at the airport in my minivan (I'm very domesticated now). Germany is great so come on over." From a 7/16/2000 email from Kara: “Gary is out of the Army August 4th and going to work for GE Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati, OHIO!! Kara and the kids fly back on July 25th. So, if you are ever in Cincinnati - you will be able to find us!!” From a 5/10/03 email, "Yes, we are almost out of Cincinnati, on our way to Eden Prairie, Minnesota. (Suburb of Minneapolis). Gary got a job with GE Fleet Services and has been working up there since February. Now we finally have a house up there, we sold our house here, so we are moving May 17th. The kids will go to 3 weeks of school up there - should be crazy!! Anyway, Here is our new address and phone number: 9557 Woodridge Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55347, Ph 952 829 1719, email is the same garyjeter@yahoo.com, Gary's work email is gary.jeter@fleet.gecapital.com, Hope this letter finds you well., The Jeter Family

Jason Jones: From a 3/29/98 email: "Greetings from North Carolina! My wife, Laura, and I were just in Texas for a family wedding. We looked up the Isaksons and got caught up a little. After graduation I went to EOBC and then Ranger school. I went to Korea and extended for 11 months. While there I met my wife Laura. She came to Korea with her best friend, Sarah, to visit Sarah's fiance Gary Caudill '91. I met Laura in Korea and our first date was to the DMZ. The ironic thing is that she is from Washingtonville, about 35 minutes from school. After Korea I went back to Leonard Wood and was a TAC for EOBC. I enjoyed going through EOBC about 4 times. While there I got to go to Honduras for 5.5 months and earn my masters thru the University of Missouri at Rolla. I also earned my professional engineer license. I left FLW and came to Bragg where I am now the commander of B/307th EN BN. We support 2nd BDE of America's Guard of Honor the 82nd Airborne. Laura and I were married at West Point on 23 May of 1997. She is working as an assistant manager in the Disney Store here in Fayetteville." From a 1/2/99 email: " Laura and I are still here in Fayetteville. She is still working at the Disney store and I am still in command. The future is somewhat questionable right now. Laura is due to make me a daddy in July. Should make for a great year. I am scheduled to leave command around 22 April. I would like to go TDY and return to CAS3 in May-Jun and leave Bragg around end of Jul for West Point to teach in G&EE. Branch has the desire to send me to JRTC in Jun as an OC. I can only fight the fight and will keep you informed." From a 6/11/99 email: "Just wanted to pass on some info to update the web page. Jessica Lynn was born on 29 May. She weighed in at 5 pounds even and was 17.5 inches long. She was six weeks early but is now home and doing fine. She looks amazingly like her mommy. We are headed to Polk in July and August. I will be going in July to be an OC. The first rotation I do will be with the 82d so I will be coming back to Bragg. Laura and Jessica will come down in August after the rotation" From a 3/11/2000 email, "Greetings all, Jo and I are here at Leavenworth doing the CAS3 thing. I tried to get this information out earlier but failed. During the January rotation at JRTC the 172 SIB from Alaska came through. The TF I covered down on was the 2-1 Infantry Battalion. On the first day at the ISB I was covering down on my Engineer PL when we went to the TF TOC. As I entered the TOC I came face to face with COLD STEEL 6 himself. Any body want to guess who it was.... Yes indeed, LTC Frank Barth. Interesting meeting and rotation. Thanks to JimB's web page I was able to give him a little update on everyone. Looking forward to 2001." From a 4/26/2000 email, "Greetings from the island of Cortina. As you can guess Laura and Jessica and I are all here and living large. The Isaksons are dropping by this weekend, 29 April. I just recently attended CAS3 with Johannes. The January rotation was the 172nd SIB out of Alaska. I covered down on the engineer platoon working with 2-1 INF. I had the opportunity of meeting and talking with COLD STEEL 6 himself, none other than LTC Frank Barth. Gave him a quick update on what I knew from the web site. Just thought everyone might like to know that. Joneses should be at Polk until summer 2001. After that we have no idea. See everyone at the reunion." From 12/14/00 email: "Seasons greetings from the bayous of Louisiana. Just a quick update. We are all getting along well here in the Sportsman's Paradise. Laura misses civilization. Jessica is getting bigger and more vocal everyday. Quite a few of us made it to James' for Army/Navy. Great time had by all. I am now the Protocol Officer for JRTC & Fort Polk. My biggest claim to fame so far is that I got to drive for GEN Shinseki. Should do this until Aug 01 and then back to OPS GRP as an OC. Hopefully I will be here until we go to Leavenworth for CGSC. Good luck to anyone going to the board next Apr. See everyone at the reunion and the very best to all in the New Year." From 7/10/01 email: "Greetings to Everyone!   We are getting moved in to our new house in Pittsburgh. I have not gotten out, just working AC/RC in Oakdale. Our address is: 484 Cherryhill Dr; Bridgeville, PA 15017; Our new telephone number is 724-743-0125. We will talk to everyone later as we get settled in." From a 7/18/04 email, "Greetings All, In the spirit of mass summer migrations we also are moving. After today the computer will be packed up and on its way over seas. Yes, as scary as it may be the Joneses are going international. We are headed to Vicenza, Italy. Our new address is CMR 427 Box 1602, APO AE 09630. Our phone number will work for a while longer. You can reach us at 724 743 0125 until 25 July. After that we will be in WV 304 372 4687 for one week before we tour the east coast before departing the good old US of A. Our mobile phone number is 412 498 7514. If we do not answer you can always leave a message. We will get settled in and once we have a new internet service we will send any updates. Hope all is well and we wish everyone the best this summer."

John Keenan: From a 5/24/99 email from John: "After graduation, went to Germany for a few years, stationed on a now-closed airbase. Married Denise, and we now have two little girls, Jamie and Casey, and another due in January. Spent two awesome weekends with Lou and Nilda Mercado in Europe; Lou and I spent most of that time laughing. Tried to hook up with Howie and Maggie Slee, never did. Came back to El Paso for OAC, then spent a year at Fort Lewis. Caught up with Jete-took our kids to see Barney. Now I work for Merrill Lynch as a Financial Consultant. Life is good-better than I deserve. Looking forward to catching up with everybody."

Kieren Kelly: From a 6/3/02 email from KK: “Jimmy B is that you? It's Kieran, Kieran Kelly, I looked you up on the West Point Alumni directory. Let me know if you get this. Sounds like things are going well for you out West. Also, believe it or not I travel out West for work quite frequently so let me know if you want to meet up. I think the last time I saw you was at a West Point gradiuation party!? Jete invited me as his date ;-) Crazy stuff. Anyhow, Kara and I have 2 children now, Veronica who is 2 1/2, born on Christmas day of 1999 and Hannah, 7 months. We currently live in Westfield NJ and I mow lawns for a living. Just kidding, I manage a European sales team for an Internet consulting firm. Good stuff. KK. PS: remember the "winger" and the always fun Spirit Missions ;-)”. From an 8/4/2005 email from KK (kkelly@jupitermedia.com): “Hello Jim. Hope all is well. I just thought I'd drop you a line and give you a quick update for the E-3 webpage. It's been some time since I last wrote in. I've corresponded with Jete, John, Robyn and you thanks to this page. Anyhow, a quick update. Since the last time I wrote in Kara and I had another daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Kelly. Hence, we now have a trio, Veronica Ann who will be 6 this Christmas, Hannah Margaret who will be 4 this August and our little Courtney Elizabeth. Kara and I are still in Westfield NJ, about 20 miles outside of New York. I currently work in Manhattan for JupiterResearch where I'm the Vice President of Global Sales and Client Services. I do a bit of travel to San Fran, Boston, Atlanta and London so if any Eagles are around and would like to get together, shoot over an e-mail. Also, if any Eagles are ever in midtown Manhattan, please look me up, lunch is on me. My office is on 32nd and Park Avenue. Tel 212-389-2032. Hope everyone is doing well. Go Eagles. KK”

Tommy Kelly: From a 12/29/98 email: "After WP, I went to the University of South Carolina and paid them to give me my degree. :). I then got married to Tracy in January 93. I moved to Greenville and became a systems developer. While working, I received my MBA with an emphasis in Information Technology. I've since been divorced in January 98, so I'm on the hunt again. :) I'm currently working for a Dutch company that owns some major grocery chains up and down the eastern seaboard and into the midwest too." From a 12/6/05 email, (replying to Rob’s email above), “Congrats Rob!! I wasn't JV...I just sat the bench. :) And army's not doing very well because.....The corps has. Thanks!!! Tommy”

Kelly Laughlin: From a 1/20/98 email from Q: "The only other eagle I have had recent contact with is Kelly Laughlin. He is working in the Division FSE in 4th ID here at Fort Hood, scheduled to take command of SVC 4-42 FA shortly after they return from NTC (he goes in February or March this year). From a 12/4/99 email from Kelly: "As per Q's Email he was pretty much on the mark. Took command of SVC 4-42FA in April of 98, deactivated it and Took Command of HHB 4-42 in October of 98. Just had my COC this OCT and now am still here at FT Hood as part of the Training Support Battalion. Ok that the Military side, now as to what you all want to know. Married my wife Miche while at Fort Sill, a fellow Oklahoman and not from Lawton. Have two children, Justine 6 and Clifton 2." From a 12/13/00 email, "I am still at Hood. Should be here another year or so. Kelly and Miche Laughlin; 5865 Wainwright Drive; Fort Hood, TX 76544; 254-539-7476. From 7/10/01 email, "Even though Miche and I will not be able to attend the reunion this year even though we had been planning on doing so for 5 years now. Just thought I'd give everbody a quick update on where we are now. Unlike as planned we no longer live in the state of Texas and have moved to Michigan (I think one of you is from here, but don't remember who). I know everyone is thinking what in the heck is in Michigan? Not much. No really ever heard of Selfridge Air National Guard Base, well that’s where will live, actually owned by TACOM in Warren, MI. As you all know when I was finally commissioned after another fun summer and semester with Barth(actually he left me alone, felt sorry for me, I guess) I was a red leg. Now I am an acquisition guy trying to get ready for the outside world. Snake my boss is from Bama, great guy. Soon to be LTG Caldwell. We travel a lot so I don't think there is any way I would be able to plan on coming to see all of you. Maybe at 15 and by 20 just call me mister."

Luciano Mercado: We received a card from Lou and his wife at Christmas 1996. The return address on the envelope indicated that they were stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood. Jete reports in his 12/28/98 email that Lou is currently stationed at Ft. Stewart. From a 6/25/99 email: "Holy smoke -- we have a company e-mail list! What a treat just to read all the names again. Hope everyone is doing well out there. I can only guess how many of you are still in the Army and how many have gotten out. I am doing just fine. Now that I have the addresses, I'll be sure to stay in touch. Take care." From a 3/15/2000 email, "All, Nilda and I have a new email address- louandnilds@earthlink.net. The old one, nilda@gateway.net, is valid until 24 March 00. My work email is still mercado1@uiuc.edu Nilda's work email is NMercado@McLeodUSA.com. Please don't allow us to slip through the cracks and never hear from any of you again!! If anyone is conspicuously absent from this mailing, please forward my contact information to them. Thanks and take care. I normally refrain from appending silly quotations to my emails, but I LOVE the lines below, for no particular reason: "Private Santiago is dead and that is a tragedy, but he is dead because he had no Honor...he is dead because he had no Code... and God was watching." Kiefer Sutherland as Marine LT Jonathan Kendrick in "A Few Good Men." Captain Luciano Mercado; 2120 Sunview Drive; Champaign, IL 61821; W:(217) 244-4298; H: (217) 378-8541.

Pat Neuschwanger: From a 2/24/99 email: "Hope you and the rest of the Eagles are doing wonderfully!! Deb and I are doing great. We are still in Phenix City, AL, but want to update you with change #2001 to our plans. I was ready to get out of the service when I change command in July of this year, but branch surprised me and offered us a Godsend: Deb and I are going to Sweden for two years. We are extremely excited about this positive turn of events. It really is a blessing! I will be a staff officer on one of the two Nordic Brigade staffs in Boden in northeastern Sweden. We will undoubtedly make contact with Jete, Jo, and whomever else is over there when we get there. Tentative timeline has us moving to Washington, D.C. for language school in Aug 99 and then leaving for Sweden in Mar/Apr of 2000. Until then we can be contacted at wanger01@mindspring.com or (334) 291-0207. We will keep you all posted." From an 8/28/99 email: " Will arrive in Monroeville, PA (our new home) on or about 1 SEPT. Just wanted to quickly pass on our new address: Pat and Deb Neuschwanger 611 Deauville Drive Apt #8 Monroeville, PA 15146". From a 6/21/01 email: "Hope the Eagles and families are all well. Deb and I are still in Pittsburgh, PA (same address as is on the website currently). I am working as a Field Services Project Manager for Westinghouse. Deb is a Ballroom and Latin Dance Instructor for Aurthur Murray Franchised Dance Studios. We had a wonderful time in the service (I got out in Oct '99), but are also having a wonderful time in our present situation. Wanted to forward my email address for posting on the site and hope to reestablish contact with a lot of the Eagles. Again, hope everyone is doing GREAT and shoot an email my way when you get the chance."

Johannes Paraan: As reported in the Paraan Newsletter from Christmas, Jo married Martina in July (1996) and at the time of the newsletter, they were expecting a baby. At the newsletter time, Jo had just finished #1 in his Signal OAC. As of an Oct 1, 1997 email, Jo is back in Mannheim, Germany in 5th Signal Command. As of the email, his step-daughter is six and his son is 8.5 months. He reports that Noel (his son) is a "miniature Jo". Congratulations! From a 12/29/98 email: Jo is currently serving as the CO for Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 2nd Signal Brigade in Mannheim, Germany. Jo also reports that Noel can beat his Dad in 21, just like Jimmy B used to! From a 12/15/99 email from Jo: "Fellow Eagles, I’ve been in a jovial mood all week and wanted to spread it to you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I change command in Jan 00 and then on to the Assistant Brigade S3. I’m debating whether to extend another year so that my stepson can graduate high school here, or whether to PCS in Jun 00 (a Battalion SIGO job opened up in the Ranger Battalion in Fort Lewis--hmmm). The wife and kids are doing fine. Megan just turned 8 last Oct and Noel will be 3 in Jan. The eldest Mandy is still with the US Olympic Tae Kwon Do team. PS. My company motto is “Go Eagles!” I wanted “Where Eagles Dare” but 1SG wouldn’t buy it. PS #2. Don’t forget about Reunion in ’01. Jo!" From a 3/13/2000 email, "Hey everyone! Extend my best to your families! As Jason said we're here in lovely Leavenworth, KS, home of 4 correctional facilities within a few miles of each other. Just finished command this past January and am now the assistant brigade s-3 for 2nd Sig Bde. I extended until Jun 01 so my step-son can finish high school. Don't have a follow-on assignment yet. We're still gonna be in Mannheim so if you're in Germany (Jete!) or Germany-bound, drop us a line and we'll link up. Jo!" From 12/12/00 email, Jo's mailing address is, "CMR 421, Box 153; HHC, 5th Sig Cmd; APO AE 09056." From a 6/21/02 email, "I just pinned on Major this month. I've been a Recruiting Company Commander here in Burlington, Vermont, since May 2001. We lucked out on a house right on Lake Champlain. I got the entire state of Vermont plus NE New York. My wife Martina, son Noel (5), and daughter Megan (10) are all doing well. My son Shane (19) is in his last week of Military Police Basic Training. He got hooked up with all the bonuses and money for college--it helps being the commander's son. My eldest daughter Mandy (21) is in Houston, training up for the next Olympics. Give me a buzz if you're ever near Vermont: (802) 654-7107 or 7108 (work) (802) 372-8276 (home) 3517 US Route 2 North Hero, VT 05474. I heard from Robyn. She just finished her year at the Defense Language Institute for Chinese and she's on her way to Fort Leavenworth for CGSC. I see Lu once in a while. He lives in Albany, NY and works for GE. See ya. Gotta go. Jo!!! "

Pat Quinn: Got a nice letter from Q and Katie in April, 1997. At the time, Q took command at Ft. Hood. Katie and their 2 children are doing very well. Also got a great email from Q on 1/20/98. He and Katie are both rocking their commands and enjoying their children. From a 11/22/98 email: "The Quinn's are moving!! We are taking off this week, actually the packers come tomorrow morning, so we will be losing our email access by the time you read this message. But have no fear, if you want to reach us you can do so at pquinn3@hotmail.com. We should be able to access that from our leave address. We should be somewhat settled in Olympia, WA shortly after Christmas. At that time when we get our next email address / ISP account we will let you all know. In the mean time if we don't speak to you between now and Xmas, we hope that you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season." From a 11/10/00 email: "Dear friends and family, Just wanted to drop you all a line and give you our change of address. The movers are coming next week and we will be settled in quarters up at Fort Lewis on the evening of 15 November. Our new address is: Patrick and Katie Quinn (and of course Ryan, Lanie, Jake, and ????); 9899 Adams St; Fort Lewis, WA 98433-5000; 253-964-0941. Of course with all things that ever happen to us - this change will not last. I have received word that I will be moving to Fort Leavenwoth (to join the BCTP team) on June 1st, 2001. We will be leaving the Fort Lewis area sometime around the beginning of May. To see pictures of Q's newest edition (from a 2/21/01 email) click here, here, here, and here (he kind of looks like Q). From a 5/22/01 email, "we are getting settled next week. Just rented a house. New address is 818 Blueberry St, Lansing, KS 66043. Cell # is 913-240-9544." From a 6/10/01 email: "We have completed our move from Olympia, WA to Kansas. Please update your address books with the following: Patrick and Katie Quinn (with Ryan, Lanie, Jake, & Josh, of course); 818 Blueberry St.; Lansing, KS 66043; Home: 913-250-0920; Patrick's Work: 913-684-8059 (DSN 552); Cell: 913-240-9544. Please note that our email has changed as well. AT&T doesn't provide a local access #, so we have switched to quinnpk4@earthlink.net." From a 9/12/01 email, "Eagles... Just had to throw my two cents in...My new job has me deploying to Fort Hood for just over a month. I am an action officer in the G3 shop running the Division Capstone Exercise - the Army-wide warfighter / validation event that bridges the legacy and transformation forces. Great stuff to be working in, learning a lot about the socio-political ramifications / strategic level planning associated with Army-wide exercises. Unfortunately Kate and I will not be able to attend the reunion. I will hold off for a while before I cancel my room reservation at the Holidome - if anyone is interested and doesn't have a room as of yet, let me know and I'll transfer it to you. Hope all is well with everyone. It is basically a miniature reunion going on here at Leavenworth - all the BZ selectees from our class are here CGSC. I see Charlie Costanza and Dave Hodne frequently. They say hello. Congrats to the Eagle CPT (P)s...1100+ sequence numbers to go...wow...Next list comes out in about 4 months or so...I look forward to seeing you all, whether it is at CGSC or some other event... Kate and I have been having a bad run of it lately...Moved into a house in Kansas, inspection company did a piss poor job...had a water pipe break...flooded the house and property...lots of damage...hail storm hit my home in Texas, roof is totaled. Roof leaked and toxic mold started growing inside, my tenants were hospitalized...USAA is denying coverage - both for the structure and the liability policy...many lawsuits are in progress, where I am both plaintiff and defendant...will try to keep you all informed as events unfold... in the meantime, I could use a few prayers (and if you happen to have a spare winning ticket to the PowerBall...enough said...) On the brigher side, things couldn't be better with the family. Katie is doing well, loving being a mother of 4. Ryan (7) and Lanie are having a great time with the studies. Any my two youngest boys, Jake (almost 3) and Josh (6 months) are keeping me busy chasing them around. I now have more gates and security measures in my home than Fort Knox... My new work email address is on the cc line - I'll be monitor from Fort Hood (assuming I can get a flight in the near future). Home is 818 Blueberry St. Lansing, KS 66043 913-250-0920. Don't be shy on the net, it has been some time since we had a letter go around - thanks Dave for sending out the invite / update on where you are... had no idea you were at the Academy. From a 6/6/02 email, “Quick update - Still just 4 kids - I know that is sort of hard to believe, but it is true, just four with none on the way. Ryan is 8, Lanie 6, Jake 3, and Josh 15 mos. All doing well / involved in everything from gymnastics to soccer, to dance classes to art classes. Kate is doing great - we live in a great neighborhood with lots of friends and the kids all are the same ages and play well together, so it has been easy to make new friends. I changed jobs in November 01. Was working in the G3 shop for the Division Capstone Exercise (a transformation demonstration at Fort Hood). Upon conclusion moved to a new position as the XO for the Futures Development and Integration Center (FDIC). Pinned on MAJ in May (finally!! nice pay raise, or so Katie tells me...). Now am changing jobs again – my boss (the FDIC Director) is getting promoted to the Chief of Staff position for the Combined Arms Center and is pulling me up with him to be his Deputy. Should be interesting... Looking forward to all the Eagles and classmates rotating through. Leavenworth here in the next couple of years for CGSC. When you are heading into town give me a call - new work # is 913-684-0032 (DSN 552). Will be happy to put anyone up / help out wherever I can.” From a 4/17/03 email, "When I last left you I was just changing jobs to be the XO for the post Chief of Staff...that didn't last too long - just barely three months later I was selected as the Aide de Camp for LTG Riley - the CG of CAC / Fort Leavenworth. I previously told you that I thought I learned a lot in my last jobs (G3 PLEX and FDIC XO)...naaaaahhh...this job has been a real eye-opener. Real upside to this is seeing how the top echelon of DA / DoD work...down side is how much we travel...I typically take off TDY on Monday (occasionally Tuesday morning) and come home for dinner on Friday. I have more frequent flier miles and hotel discounts than I can shake a stick at...most kids trade baseball cards / Pokemon cards / etc.... mine trade the hotel key-cards from last week's TDY. Basically there isn't an Army installation in CONUS that we don't visit...LTG Riley is in charge of all the training installations across the USA (Benning, Sill, Rucker, Leonard Wood, etc.) plus all the CTCs (NTC, JRTC, CMTC, BCTP), plus schools (Warrant Officer Career Course, CGSC, War College), plus a few other odds and ends (DLI, WHINSEC (formerly known as the School of the Americas), USASMA). The light is on at the end of the tunnel - boss is changing command on 26 June and I will take about 6 weeks of leave starting 1 July - 18 Aug when CGSC starts. Looking forward to this next year / am thinking about applying for SAMS as a follow-on...we'll see. Kate and the kids are all doing great (yes, I still only have four...B, I can't hang with you!!) Ryan just turned 9 (man, if this is a sign of what the teenage years are going to be like - whoah!!! we are in for a roller coaster ride), Lanie is 7 (what a princess!), Jake is 4 (Jake is a combination kid - at one minute he is wrestling and a fighting machine, the next he is the sweetest little boy around and very helpful to his Mom) and Josh just turned 2 (2 years old, enough said...favorite activities include karate chopping dad and jumping off the couch onto dad when he is lying on the floor). We are still living in Lansing, KS. Hope to hear back from you and wish all of you the best!" From a 8/3/04 email, "Dear Friends and Family, Our transition to life in Korea is almost complete - I have been here for just over a month...it has been a busy and challenging time getting used to being the S3 for 1-15 FA...a bit like drinking from a firehose, but to be honest I am enjoying it and looking forward to the many training events in the future. Kate and the kids arrived last Thursday. After a 12 hour flight with 4 children she deserved a medal!! They are all staying at the Dragon Hill Lodge until 10 August when we sign for quarters. My address at Camp Casey is MAJ Patrick D. Quinn III; HHB, 1-15 FA; Unit 15040; APO AP 96224-5040; patrick.quinn@us.army.mil. Katie's new address in Yongsan is: Kate Quinn; PSC 450; Box 889; APO AP 96206-0889; kathleen.quinn@us.army.mil. We hope that all is going well for each of you and that those of you moving this summer have a smooth transition and are getting settled in your new jobs. Take care, we look forward to hearing from you. V/r, Patrick, Katie and the kids.” From a 12/9/05 email, “I thought I would join in the string of emails here and send a quick little update... Life is going great for the Quinn's...the last year or so has been challenging but we are all holding up pretty well. After CGSC I was assigned to 2ID in Korea...we were able to get a command sponsorship that allows Kate and the kids to live down in Seoul while I am up at Camp Caseey / Camp Hovey. Spent the first year as the Bn S3...6 months as a standard FA Bn working for a Divarty...next 6 months as a transformed fires battalion in a heavy brigade. Lots of challenges in both units. Became the battalion XO in June and will stay in this job til next June. Have been asked to stay in the Division for a third year now and be the Divarty (now called the Fires Brigade) S3. Will be another challenging year living north of the no smile line, but I think this Bde job is what I need to keep me competitive for Battalion command...for those of you who got out the YG91 PZ look for LTC is Feb 07 and Cmd selection board convenes in August 07. Being here in Korea and missing the OIF experiences will be a tough obstacle to overcome....we'll have to wait and see. my DEROS is July 2007 and the may be a deployment in future at that time - just obviously not in a BQ job as S3 or XO. The family is doing great - the last year and a half has been FULL of changes. I now have 4 black belts in Tae Kwon Do in the family...Ryan (now 11), Lanie (9) and Jake (7) are the kids that are licensed to kick their old man's but, and Kate (i won’t give her age for fear of a round house kick coming my way) got her black belt too. Josh turns 5 in February and is rearin' to go and start his lessons. All are doing great in school and sports and Kate is the miracle worker that holds it all together. Big news on the homefront is that we are expecting #5 in late March to early April timeframe. All indications are that this is a girl - we are hooked on the name Elisabeth Grace and everything seems to be going fine. Yes, this was a surprise to us (and no Jimmy B and I are not having a competition here)....we know how it happened, just didn’t plan for this endstate...but we are all excited all the same 2005 has been full of twists and turns... My parents now live in Taiwan (dad is contraction for Dow Corning) - just a 4 hour flight from Seoul...small world. Hope all is well with each of you and wish you all a great 2006. Take care, Q” From a 3/30/06 email, "Friends and Family, It is my pleasure to announce the birth of Elisabeth Grace Quinn. Born 30 Mar 2006 at 0022. Wt: 7 lbs 4 oz. 20 1/4 inches long. Both Kate and Elisa are doing great - we expect them both to come home tomorrow afternoon (31 March). I would have sent out these photos a bit earlier today, but as typical with the Quinn-lifestyle, when it rains it pours. Ryan had a bit of a fall this afternoon, got a concussion and some short term memory loss. We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in the ER. All is fine now / CT scan is normal, but he had us going for a while there. Boys will be boys... I have attached a couple of small pictures to this message. We have many more photos...I'll find a website to post them to and pass on the link for those interested. Q". From a 6/26/06 email: "Unfortunately I definitely will not be coming to the reunion.  Maybe by the 20th…depending on what country I am living in at that point. Just changed jobs last week…finished my battalion life as an XO as the commander of troops for the change of command.  Executed a half left face and marched to my new job as the Fires Bde S3.  I am expected to drink from a fire hose, but all they have issued me is a straw…new job is very challenging – we work more for the Combined Forces Command and TROKA than we do our own Division HQs.  Looking forward to the release of the LTC list next month and the Bn Cmd list sometime after that to see what trends are forming as our YG goes for PZ LTC and Cmd boards next year. Kate and the kids are all doing well – they have all started Hapkido now – trying to get a triple black belt while here in Korea (already completed 2nd degree in Tae Kwon Do, will test next month for 1st degree in Kumdo – Korean sword fighting – now moving on to Hapkido).  Elisa is doing great.  Getting bigger every time I see her.  Almost three months old now – time is flying.  Hope all of you and yours are doing well.  Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July.  Talk to you soon, q." From a 12/26/07 email "Jim and Shell, great to hear from you guys and thanks for the picture / update on how you all are doing...here is a quick update on all of us (although no rhyming like yours...) :) all is well with the Quinn's - we DEROSd from Korea in July, flew to Hawaii and spent two weeks at the Hale Koa in Waikiki.  Absolutley the best time I could have ever asked for with the family.  It was very much needed.  We came back to the US, picked up our car and started the cross country journey to visit all the relatives that we had not seen in the last 3 years.  My parents flew in from Taiwan for a couple of weeks and we all met up in St. Louis for a mini reunion.  We moved to Fort Sill in mid-August to get settled and get the kids into school. The four big kids are all attending private school - St. Mary's Catholic School in downtown Lawton.  Very good school / we really are happy that we made that choice for all of them.  It hurts to have to pay at the beginning of each month, but there is such a difference that we see between SAMS / SAES and St. Mary's.  Kate has completely given up on the homeschooling - not surrendering, but sees the catholic education system as fitting in very well w/ our values and the kids are loving it.  At first Ryan hated the uniform side and the strictness of standards, but now he is used to it and doing much better in all areas. We are renting a house in Lawton / right behind the Commanche Memorial Hospital off Gore - all our neighbors are doctors and nurses, which has its benefits when the kids get hurt!!  Fortunately we have not had to take too much advantage of their hospitality! We got all settled in during the first week of Sep, then 21 Sep I flew to Ft. Benning CRC.  Spent a week there and then flew to Bagram, Afghanistan.  HRC finally figured out what to do with me / I am filling an individual augmentee slot with CJTF-82, working in the CJ5 shop as the lead governance and effects planner. Life in the CJ5 shop is always fun and busy - working at the upper tactical /semi-operational level is a learning experience...couple that w/ the fact that I am the CJTF lead for all governance development  / capacity building actions in Afghanistan, and wow - I have been exposed to and learning a lot. I expect to be here for 1 year - will return to Fort Sill sometime in late Sep / early Oct 2008.  timing wise it will work out nice in that my 2 years at Fort Sill will end in the summer of 2009 (after only really 9 months at Fort sill / but try to PCS closer to the end of the school year so we are not crunched at the next duty station to get settled before school). No clue where I will be going at that point - time will tell. The Class of 91 battalion command list was released this month (at least for those of us that are due course / not BZ types).  I was fortunate to be selected as an alternate for command...disappointed that I was not on the primary list, but hopeful that things will go my way.  we will have to wait and see... Kate and the kids are all doing well - hating some aspects of living alone in OK, but getting along and surviving day by day.  Cant really ask for too much more than that...they are in St. Louis now to see my family for the Christmas holidays.  they have had a great time visiting w/ the cousins and grandparents.  I hope to get 2 weeks of R&R in the spring / Easter timeframe...trying to tie that into the kids spring break.  who knows... Anyway - thanks again for the note / Happy New Year and the rest of the holiday season to all of you....sorry for being so long on this... Take care, q"

Lumen Roley: From a 12/29/97 email from JT, "Luman actually moved here to Dallas and lived about 2 miles from me, but just recently has transferred jobs within the same company and I just helped him move to Austin, TX." From a 2/23/98 email from Snake himself, " I'm living in Austin now, working for Applied Materials. I got out at the five year mark and have worked for Applied since then."

Dan Shekleton: Got an email from Shek on 3/26/98 which reads as follows: "Did the Infantry thing at Benning and then spent a year as a platoon leader at Ft Ord. Then, ironically, I went to Ft. Knox where I was a company XO and battalion S-3 for a basic training battalion. After successfully completing three years there without having to transfer companies, I decided I had had enough. I had completed some classes at the local community college while at Knox, so I was able to apply for and be accepted at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. I am currently finishing up my second year here in Springfield, IL and am looking forward to my next two years which will be clinical instead of classroom. I don't know what type of doctor I want to be. I married Tiffani, my girlfriend back at West Point, in 1992, and we just bought our first house this past summer."

Howie Slee: From a 8/11/98 email: " Well, here I am at Fort Sill, OK. I have been here since March 1992. My first assignment was with 1AD in Baumholder, Germany where I served as a Fire Direction Officer, Infantry Company FSO and Platoon Leader in 4-29FA, now 4-27FA. I attended the FA Advanced Course in March 92 and was stationed with the 212th FA BDE in III Corps Artillery, here on Fort Sill. I have served as the 212th Brigade Adjutant, MLRS Assistant S3 and have been in command of an MLRS Firing Battery since May 97. I married Maggie in February 92. Our only children as of now are 2 cats and dog. Maggie got her Master's Degree in Behavioral Science this past May. I have applied for a position as a Special Agent in the FBI and should be attending school in January 1999. After completion of the FBI Academy I plan to be stationed in New York City."

James Tobey: From a 12/27/97 email: "I have settled down in Dallas, Texas. A brief synopsis of my life since WP: Married a Texan in March of '92, took the early out option about the 3 year mark of service, went to graduate school and earned my MBA, worked as a management consultant for a while, and now I am the General Manager of a manufacturing company here in Dallas. My wife and I have one child, Kate, who is 18 months old and we are settling into family life pretty well." From a 10/26/98 email: " ... [S]ome more Eagle addition news: Whitney Ann Tobey was born on October 22, 1998 at 11:23am. She weighed in at a whopping 9lbs, 13ozs and 21 inches long. Christy and Whitney are doing fine. Although now with two little girls at home plus a pro-shopping wife, I am looking for a second job!!" Congrats on a Texas sized girl! Must be something in that Texas water!
