Gifts

Giving gifts represents the greatest gift of all, when God gave his Son.

Wrap a gift in a lovely towel, useful container, a dustpan, or a pretty dish.

Place a loaf of homemade bread and a jar of jelly on a bread board. Wrap the board with a ribbon or cellophane.

Wrap a wide ribbon or pretty towel around a pie plate. Place jars of pie filling in the plate and a recipe for its use.

Fill a picnic basket with checkered cloth and add an assortment of pickled vegetables and a loaf of French bread.

Soak pinto beans overnight (at least 12 hours). Fill quart jars with 3½ cups soaked beans, 1 tsp. salt and fill with hot water to 1" from the top of the jar. Cook on 15 lbs. of pressure for 1 hour. Tie a ribbon around jar with a list of ways to serve them:

  1. as chili beans
  2. tacos
  3. casseroles
  4. tostados
  5. refried with bacon and cheese
    etc.
Here's a little present for you
to bring some Christmas cheer.
We hope you have a merry one
and a very happy New Year.

Tomorrow night it's your turn
to make a treat, not once but twice.
Then two more friends in our neighborhood
will have a treat that's nice.

Write this message out again
Try not to give a clue
Of who the Christmas Time Phantom is,
The secret is safe with you.

Signed,

The Christmas Time Phantom
