Biography:
James R. Engebretsen serves as an Assistant Dean of Corporate Relations and Career Services at the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. He oversees the Marriott School's placement function and relationships with corporations across the World. Engebretsen formerly served as the Managing Director of the Peery Institute of Financial Services Jim arrived at the Marriott School with nearly fifteen years work experience, having spent time at Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs in New York and Philadelphia. He left Goldman Sachs in 1995 to set up his own hedge fund, Associates Capital Management, which he managed until he was called to preside over the Oklahoma City Mission in 1997. Engebretsen earned his MBA and BS in economics from BYU. Jim is married to Tamera Jones Engebretsen, and they have five daughters and one son. They currently reside in Provo, UT.
