John Bingham
John Bingham is Professor and Donald L. Staheli Fellow at the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University and executive education faculty at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. John served as director of the MBA and Executive MBA programs at BYU from 2013 – 2016.
John conducts research on employment exchange, employee proactive and unethical behavior, and is a leading expert on the effects of mission-driven organizations on employee engagement. He was recently named an Ascendant Scholar by the Western Academy of Management and has received numerous awards for teaching and mentoring students. His work is published consistently in top-tier management journals such as Organization Science and Harvard Business Review and has been featured internationally in news outlets such as Yahoo! News, Fox Business, and MSNBC.
John is a founder and senior consultant at Bingham Partners Group and Ampelis Legacy Consultants where he advises leaders and firms on issues related to his research. Previous to academia, he co-founded two professional service companies and worked in business development for a technology start-up. John and Amy Bingham and their five children are amateur chicken farmers and irrigationists, and enjoy hiking, biking, river rafting, skiing, and traveling together.
