MBA 690R Field Studies and MBA 651 Marketing Field Study

MBA 690R is a general field studies class that is open to all graduate level students at BYU. While MBA and MPA students are the primary participants, we have had students from engineering, psychology, etc. involved on the teams. MBA 651 is a required Marketing Field Study class taken by first year marketing emphasis MBA students in the winter semester. They complete the same application as the 690R students. Accounting and MISM students have their own Field Study classes, but are also welcome to participate in MBA 690R.

The Field Study class is a project oriented program where the students only meet in a class room setting 3 to 4 times per semester. The students work as a team for a company sponsor who gives direction for the project and pays a fee to the Marriott School. A faculty advisor provides project content direction and the Director of Field Studies provides business expertise and guidance.
