Academies

Academy classes serve as a bridge to a profession in Financial Services. Students learn both the practical language and institutions associated with Financial Services. Through academy classes, students participate in real-world activities, projects, and field studies relating to their areas of focus. They also become more prepared to earn their professional certifications.

Role of an Academy

• Develop a bridge to financial service professionals
• Provide students with “real world” activities relating to financial services (e.g. field study with an insurance firm, etc.)
• Help students prepare for professional certification
• Develop a network of students with similar interests

How Academies Function

Academies provide students with a working knowledge of a career field within the financial services industry. Students receive guidance from industry leaders and professionals as they are given projects that bring them close to the industry. Students are encouraged to network.

Students may currently choose to study real estate, insurance and financial planning, or investment management. Through cooperation with industry professionals, faculty, clubs, and associations, the Institute strives to prepare students to earn their professional certificates.
