Biography
A. Kim Smith is the Managing Director of the Peery Institute of Financial Services and an Associate Teaching Professor in the Business Management Department. He came to the Marriott School in July 2007 after twenty-eight years with Goldman Sachs in NYC and Tokyo. Kim spent the bulk of his career at Goldman in fixed income derivatives sales. He also headed campus recruiting for the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division from 1995-2000. In his last assignment, he headed firmwide financial markets and products training for all Goldman's professionals and key clients within Goldman Sachs University. Kim also served as a member of the 6th Quorum of Seventy, assigned to the northeastern U.S. and Canada, from 2003-2007.Kim received his MBA and BA (Economics) from BYU. Kim is married to the former Julie Elaine Brown and they are parents of three daughters and one son. They currently reside in Provo, UT.
