Career Day in Manhattan

The Peery Institute arranges an annual career trip to New York and Wall Street each Fall. All interested students are eligible to attend. Opportunities vary each year but students who participate gain first-hand exposure to several large investment banks, and a chance to make contacts for building a succesfull career in the Financial Services Industry. "Students from other schools I have visited (Harvard, Wharton, MIT, Yale) tend to have stronger family and alumni connections on Wall Street, which gives them a distinct advantage. Some of the BYU students were well prepared to talk about the industry, but others were…naïve. The best students at BYU are as good (or better) than the country’s top programs. However, a BYU student who only does the minimum requirements is not as competitive."
