Internships

Students who complete internships typically have greater career development opportunity than students that do not. Academic internships integrate classroom principles and theory and require higher level reasoning skills to solve problems within the work place. Students learn about themselves and their interests through internships and develop confidence, leadership, self-management skills, communication, and interpersonal skills. They also gain business knowledge and networking skills for career development.

The thing I liked best about my internship was the exposure I received to Wall Street. I was able to meet and talk with the management of several companies and learn about the corporate culture. I gained insight into what career paths I could take in the business world and the background I need for different positions.
