School of Accountancy

Student studying

The School of Accountancy (SOA) prepares students for careers as professional accountants in industry, government, public accounting, and consulting. The SOA continues to be one of the top-ranked accounting programs at both the undergraduate and master's levels. David L. Beck, General President of the Young Men's Organization stated the following at the BYU Commencement in August, 2012: "The BYU accounting program has set an extraordinary standard of excellence."

According to university surveys, BYU accounting graduates are among the most satisfied of all BYU students with their major, the SOA learning experience and their success since graduation. The SOA's outstanding reputation provides opportunities for our graduates to be placed in outstanding career paths upon leaving BYU.

It would be impossible to offer the high quality education and student support we do without outside contributions. The SOA depends on outside contributions to fund a significant portion of its day-to-day operating activities, student support, curriculum development, part-time faculty, and research.
