Strategy Program

As the business environment becomes more complex, firms increasingly rely on formulating and implementing solid business strategies for success. BYU's undergraduate strategy program (including both a major for Marriott School students and a minor for students across campus) prepares students for productive careers in strategy as external consultants, internal consultants or line managers, and entrepreneurs. The program features a three-course sequence that gives students an in-depth and experiential exposure to central elements of formulating and implementing strategy. The program helps place students in strategy consulting firms, major corporations, or entrepreneurial work environments.

The purposes of the program's fund raising efforts are to:

  • Provide funds to enhance our ability to place students. This includes developing productive relationships with consulting firms and others hiring our students through company visits or on-campus activities.
  • Development and support of an effective alumni network. This includes the costs of maintaining an effective data base and networking platform as well as underwriting costs of alumni reunions or other activities.
  • Support faculty research in strategy. This includes providing faculty with research assistants, travel to research sites or conferences, and other research support.
