  3. Contact Past Students Who Have Participated in Business Studies Abroad or in Other Study Abroad Programs.

    • Check our web site to contact students who have participated in business studies abroad in the past: Study Abroad Contact List
    • Use your connections: ask friends, family, classmates, professors
    • Ask about their experiences: What did they like and dislike? What would they have done differently? What advice do they have for you?
  4. Assess your financial situation. Do you know about scholarships? Have you applied to them? Do you have personal resources?

    • Understand cost of study abroad programs. Costs vary by location, time, and program activities.
      • Programs through the Marriott School are usuall $4,500–$6,500, which includes tuition, airfare, house, and some meals.
      • Program fees at other school usually start at $5,600. Most don’t include airfare. Housing, meals, tuition, books, etc. are usually not included in program fees.

  5. Apply to your program of interest

    1. Apply online at kennedy.byu.edu/isp
    2. Obtain reference/recommendation letters that are required
    3. Complete application and pay ISP fee of $25 by 12 December 2009
