Study in China and learn about business!

What is the Nanjing Engineering and Business Study Abroad?

Students will experience what it would be like to be a student in China as Nanjing University hosts BYU engineering and business students for this intensive spring term program. Students will also have an opportunity to learn from some of the world’s top international business professionals as they discuss everything from branding, supply chain, and general business strategy.

This spring term Study Abroad gives students the chance to expand their world by spending 6 weeks in China. Each Study Abroad is guided by a BYU professor and expert in the field of engineering or business. The professor will provide business and cultural briefings, direct case studies, facilitate discussions, and lead onsite visits to companies. Field trips to important locations of cultural and historical significance support academic content and add a human element to diverse cultures.

Students will gain an understanding of cross-cultural business strategy. They will also broaden their perspective and global awareness, building a marketable competitive advantage. This program is designed for undergraduate business and engineering majors with an interest in one of the most fascinating global markets in the world.

Nanjing, China

Nanjing is the capital of China’s Jiangsu Province, and a city with a prominent place in Chinese history and culture. Nanjing served as the capital of China during several historical periods and is listed as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. Nanjing was the capital of the Republic of China (ROC) before the Chinese Civil War. Nanjing is also one of the fifteen sub-provincial cities in the People’s Republic of China’s administrative structure, enjoying jurisdictional and economic autonomy only slightly less than that of a province.

Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has always been one of China’s most important cities. With an urban population of over five million, it is also the second largest commercial center in the East China region, after Shanghai.
