Previous experience...

Undergrad in Business. 5 years working for a credit card company.

Previous positions and callings…

Finance coordinator. YW President. Teacher.

Experience at Marriott School…

One of the things I liked the most was the interaction among international students. To understand the different cultures was something interesting too.

Experience as an international student…

It was a tough one.
  • Believe it or not, we are alike but we are different.
  • The language was a barrier, even though I believe I do speak English very well.
  • The grading is something we have to get used to.
  • The pressure to find a job and to be recognized.

Words of advice for prospective CIS students…

  • Words of advice: Find a job before you start studying. The best is to go to BYU employed, that way you can focus on the studies and challenges you'll have.
  • Don't get desperate to go to BYU and leave everything you have, make a disciplined and objective decision, analyze your characteristics and don't ignore them in case you find out you are not the right fit.
