Family Focus

The strong religious element, along with a wide variety of active student organizations—including a strong MBA Spouse Association—provide a measure of balance to the strenuous demands of a BYU MBA education. This focus on individual and family well-being may be why the Princeton Review named the BYU Marriott School as one of the nation's “Most Family Friendly” business schools. It's critical to our program and our university that families are involved with and play an active role in the MBA experience. As a result, students will find that families are invited to most MBA activities. The resulting network of spouses and children provides a much-needed source of support and friendship for families during their two years in Provo.

A resource available specifically to spouses of MBA students is our MBA Spouses' Association (MBASA). The MBA Spouses' Association provides opportunities for spouses of MBA students to get involved in the MBA experience. The mission of the association is to “provide opportunities for social, intellectual, and spiritual growth, while developing qualities in members that will contribute to and support MBA students.” Run entirely by a team of MBA spouses, members of the MBASA can get involved in book clubs, children's music classes, service projects, BYU intramurals, and continuing-education seminars.

Single MBA students also have the opportunity to be involved in a family of friends. The MBA singles host events on a regular basis so that single MBAs have the opportunity to build a solid network with their classmates. Some of these events include monthly dinners, holiday parties, weekly gatherings, trips, sporting activities, and socials with other single graduate organizations. Numerous single working professionals also live in the area and host a multitude of events.
