New Credential Evaluations Requirement for International Transcripts

Starting fall semester 2008, an international applicant whose degree is awarded outside the United States must submit all official transcripts, diplomas and marksheets to one of the following agencies for a credential evaluation, which must include a comprehensive course-by-course evaluation and calculation of a grade point average (GPA):

  • Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
  • International Education Research Foundation (IERF)
  • World Education Service (WES)

1 Applications are accepted beginning October 1, 2007. Completed applications are reviewed beginning November 1, 2007. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. Early submission is strongly encouraged.

2 Non-LDS students - Because a significant portion of the university's operating costs are paid from the tithes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, students who are tithe-paying members of the LDS Church have already contributed to the operation of the university. Non-LDS students, because they will not have made this contribution, are charged a higher rate of tuition. The practice is similar in principle to that of state universities that generally charge non-residents a higher rate than residents.
