Business Management
"My experiences in the Marriott School have increased my faith, strengthened my character, and planted in me an intense desire to serve people not only in my personal life, but in a business capacity as well. I credit the Marriott School for the excitement I feel as I enter the world of business ready to lift others."
-Aaron Thatcher, Marriott School undergraduate student
The Marriott School expects to educate people who exhibit a particular set of values, professional expertise, and commitment to leadership—men and women who will graduate with the ability to become leaders at home, in the community, and in professions and organizations throughout the world. Marriott School students bring a global perspective to their business education. Three-quarters of them speak a second language, and many have lived abroad.
Ned Hill, dean of the Marriott School, believes BYU is in a unique position to attract and develop business men and women of exceptional character and ability. "We're pleased with the national recognition the Marriott School has received, especially our top undergraduate accounting and management programs," he said. "We have exceptional faculty and programs that attract very bright and talented students." The undergraduate management program is currently ranked 31st in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
Within the management program there are different emphases that allow the students to acquire training and skills in diverse areas of management. Those areas include finance, marketing, information systems, international finance or marketing, insurance, operations, entrepreneurship, and retailing.
