The Finance and Managerial Economics Department is housed within the Marriott School of Management. For undergraduates majoring in Business Management, we offer an emphasis in Finance. Within the emphasis we offer classes in investments, insurance/risk management, real estate, banking, international finance, corporate finance, and personal financial planning. To see required courses and the course map, click here. We do not have an undergraduate major in Finance. Students who desire to go directly from their undergraduate work to a finance PhD should major in Economics with a focus in econometrics.
In the MBA program, our faculty support the finance track, providing MBAs with a solid finance foundation and offering various electives to allow students to specialize in a finance functional area. For required courses and the course map for the MBA track, click here.
Our faculty are engaged in cutting-edge research. We have faculty members who specialize in investments, corporate finance, financial institutions, insurance, risk management, personal finance, real estate, and finance pedagogy. Our faculty members publish in the top journals in their fields. For a complete list of recent published articles, click here.
