BOARD HEADLINES...

Andrea Thomas, Vice-president, global chocolate, Hershey

Before taking the Hershey job this winter, Thomas led innovation at Frito-Lay. She was responsible for smash after smash in the company's salty snack line, creating new product platforms that generated more than $1 billion in sales. Now she's heading up global platform innovation and branding for Hershey's chocolate portfolio. At Hershey, big plans are in the pipeline for the old standbys of Hershey's chocolate bars and Kisses, and Reese's peanut butter cups. But keep an eye out for Thomas's new confectionary platforms. Can healthy chocolate be far behind?

"I love to come back to the BYU campus and interact with the students and faculty every chance I get. I have so many wonderful memories from my time as a student in the MBA program, and I am grateful for the preparation I received while there. My career adventure thus far has exceeded my expectations and I try to take every opportunity I can to give back to the school and help the next generation of business leaders coming out of the Marriott School."

MARKETING RESEARCH ADVISORY BOARD

Chair:

Soon To Be Announced

"My service on the board has given me opportunities to be directly involved with the students of the Institute of Marketing in the classroom and with the Marketing Club; as a result of this direct interaction, I am completely confident in the Marriott School providing great Marketing & Sales talent for my organization (and any organization globally).

Being involved with the Institute of Marketing is an honor for me and a great opportunity to “give back” to the school that gave me the foundation to begin my career – I’m not only a better leader in my organization, but also enthusiastically committed to this great institution and its students. All alumni will benefit from renewing a relationship with this special place and the students who are prepared and eager to make a difference in the business world."
Mitch Lord, Orbit, Marketing Institute Board Member

"I am very pleased to participate on the Marketing Advisory Board. My participation provides Union Pacific increased access to fine students and the opportunity to network outside normal channels. Recently we were able to take advantage of classroom time to speak to students about marketing and sales and how high technology is used at Union Pacific - helping to overcome misplaced impressions of today’s railroads."
Steve Jensen, Union Pacific, Marketing Institute Board Member
