Tuition and Financial AidChoosing to pursue an MPA degree is a smart investment in yourself and in your future. Here, you will find information about funding your MPA degree using MPA scholarships, student loans, and external scholarships.
Tuition
Information about current tuition and fees is available at this link: Because a significant portion of the university's operating costs are paid from the tithes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, students who are tithe-paying members of The Church have already contributed to the operations of the university. Non-LDS students, because they will not have made this contribution, are charged higher tuition. Tuition typically increases each fall. Veteran BenefitsVeteran benefits are available for MPA students. Contact the veteran support officer for details: (801) 422-6429. ScholarshipsSeveral privately-funded, program specific, and single parent scholarships are available to MPA students. Application for the scholarships is made by completing the Marriott School scholarship application. To fill out an application and find details about Marriott School scholarships please visit this link: http://marriottschool.byu.edu/aid/. Additional scholarship information is available at http://marriottschool.byu.edu/aid/graduate.cfm. To be considered for a scholarship based on financial need, it is necessary to complete a FAFSA form (http://www.fafsa.com/). The Marriott School scholarship application and the FAFSA form should be completed during the month of January. Prospective students should submit the program application first. Select the scholarships that interest you. Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they are qualified. Privately-endowed Romney Institute scholarships are awarded to students who excel and show interest in specific professional fields.
Student LoansTo find out about loans from the Marriott School Loan Fund or the Federal Stafford loans, contact Paul Conrad (Paul_Conrad@byu.edu). These loans are handled on an individual basis and are usually dependent on financial need. BYU short-term loans are available for up to the cost of tuition only. Federal Stafford loans are subsidized by the U.S. government and are available only to U.S. citizens. More information on and applications for these loans is available from the BYU Financial Aid Office in A-41 ASB, (801) 378-4104, financialaid@byu.edu, http://financialaid.byu.edu/ or by contacting Paul Conrad directly. Outside ScholarshipsThe Romney Institute does not specifically endorse any of the scholarships listed below. This list was compiled simply for your convenience and represents a partial list of opportunities. You must confirm your eligibility and go through the application process on your own. We welcome feedback and suggestions for additional scholarships to include.
