MPA STUDENT RESOURCES
Key Marriott School resources available to MPA students include a newly expanded business career
center, a Center for International Business and Education Research, and advanced technology and facilities.
Business Career Center (Website)
The MPA program offers its students and graduates access to the Marriott School's Steven and Georgia White Business Career Center.
The facility includes a large presentation room, a career services resource library, twenty interview rooms, and a hosting center.
The center's professional staff offers assistance in writing cover letters, negotiating offers, finding internships, networking, and composing resumes.
Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, the staff is able to tailor internship, field study, and career placement to the needs of recruiters and students.
The Marriott School's web-based e-recruiting system allows students to submit resumes and search for jobs online. It also allows employers to post job descriptions,
add contact information, update recruiting information, access student resumes, make interview decisions, and view interview schedules online.
Center for International Business Education and Research (Link)
BYU's Marriott School and the University of Utah's Eccles School of Business house the nation's only joint Center for International Education and Research (CIBER).
One of only twenty-seven CIBERs funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the center is responsible for coordinating international curriculum, research, and outreach
activities of the Marriott School. MPA students interested in international issues and development will find the unique resources and opportunities offered through CIBER
some of the most valuable of their education. Each year CIBER sponsors faculty directed international management excursions to countries in Europe and Asia.
Foreign management excursions provide new perspectives and knowledge of cultures and international management practices.
Technology and Facilities
Along with its other resources, the Marriott School provides students with technical and computer training. The Tanner Building is complete with multimedia classrooms,
and student computer services and laboratories. To further enhance students' educational experience and to prepare them for an
increasingly sophisticated workplace, all graduate students are required to own a laptop computer.
