Marriott School Dean Addresses Students

PROVO, Utah – Feb 11, 2015 – Lee Perry, dean of the Marriott School of Management, will deliver the Marriott School devotional address on Thursday, February 12 at 11 a.m. in W408 TNRB. Refreshments will be served.

Perry will address Marriott School students with a presentation titled: “Become the Difference: Why you are the leaders who will make a difference in the world.”

Lee Tom Perry serves as dean of the Marriott School of Management and holds the Marriott Professorship. A faculty member in organizational leadership & strategy, he previously served as associate dean from 1998 to 2005 and 2012 to 2013. He received his PhD in administrative sciences from Yale University.

He brings over 30 years of professional experience as a professor, consultant, administrator, entrepreneur and corporate board member to the problem of connecting strategy and execution. With Mark Hansen and Shane Reese, he received the McKinsey Best Conference Paper Prize at the 22nd Annual International Conference of the Strategic Management Society in Paris. He was also recognized as the Marriott School Outstanding Faculty in 2005. Between March 1996 and July 1997 Lee worked for Merck, the pharmaceutical giant, leading the strategy and execution work for thirteen affiliates in Central and Eastern Europe. He and his wife, Carolyn, have six children.

The Marriott School is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. The school has nationally recognized programs in accounting, business management, entrepreneurship, finance, information systems and public management. The school’s mission is to prepare men and women of faith, character and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world.
