| Description: | Joan Dixon, BYU CESR, will facilitate this workshop that will focus on how to use Logic Models and PERT charts for project planning. Logic models are used to identify and analyze the relationships between the inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes of a development project. Using logic models for planning helps prevent problems that result from flawed assumptions about the capacity of an organization. They also provide an orderly template for evaluating a projects results from several key standpoints. PERT charts are a simple tool for laying out a step-by-step plan for implementing activities and assigning responsibilities. The presenter will introduce the methods with examples from actual projects. Then the participants will have an opportunity to apply the methods to an actual project they are preparing for their organization. It is recommended that two or more people from each organization attend the workshop if possible so that they can work together. | |
