Faculty

Innovative solutions to existing social problems come from every area of expertise and study. At the Ballard Center, we strongly support the search for original answers and sustainable improvements. We advocate faculty research in every discipline. We do not want researchers to study social innovation exclusively; instead, we believe that more will be done when researchers look at their own studies through the lens of social innovation. We want them to see how the work they are already doing can be applied to solving a wide-scale problem. This kind of thinking will expand the impact of social innovation across campus and around the world.
We have already done extensive work with a number of quality researchers. The most influential work has been our microfranchise research, which includes replicating microenterprises in developing countries. The field of social innovation is always changing and we look forward to facilitating its growth.
