Small Fortunes

CESR Full-Time Position Available
The Center for Economic Self-Reliance has posted an open position for the Assistant to the Director, a position currently occupied by Brenley Burton. Applications are being accepted between now and 12 June 2006. You can find out more about this position at the BYU Employment website: yjobs.byu.edu. The new hire will begin training in July.

Student Activities
Take a look at what some of the student interns are doing this summer:
- working at a microcredit bank
- serving as an expedition team leader for volunteers coming to building community centers and helping in orphanages
- volunteering in health clinics, orphanages, and English classes
- teaching local leaders and families about preventative health practices
Freedom from Hunger Microfranchise Project
The Center for Economic Self-Reliance (CESR) and Freedom from Hunger (FFH), an international development organization currently working in 18 countries across the globe, have partnered together to send a research team of BYU student interns to research health needs and microfranchise health-product solutions in Ghana. more
Single Mom Initiative Learning Lab
The Center for Economic Self-Reliance at Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management and the Single Mom Foundation have joined forces to create the Single Mom Initiative, a multi-year, multi-disciplinary research effort with the stated goal of improving knowledge about the unique challenges facing single moms and creating policy implications from this understanding.
