About the Peery Foundation

Founded by Richard Peery in 1978, the mission of the Peery Foundation is to “strengthen

youth and families to build lives of dignity and self-reliance.” They accomplish this goal by supporting social entrepreneurs and others working to empower youth and families throughout the world.

The Ballard Center exists to promote social innovation and to simultaneously build students into strong and contributing leaders. This combination of ideals aligns perfectly with the goals of the Peery Foundation.

The Peery Foundation has partnered with the Ballard Center since 2003 on a number of initiatives and programs providing opportunities for students and faculty to apply their expertise to the field of social entrepreneurship. In 2010 the Peery Social Entrepreneurship Program was established.
