- BYU hosts various clubs around campus that promote international development, corporate social responsibility, and economic self-reliance.
Classes
- Directors and advisors involved with the Economic Self-Reliance Center hold classes each year that teach social entrepreneurship and other practices to promote economic self-reliance.
Economic Self-Reliance Conference
- The ESR Conference is held every Fall Semester and is a valuable place for those involved with the ESR Center to share research and network with like-minded people who are looking to facilitate economic self-reliance throughout the world.
Internships and Grants
- The Economic Self-Reliance Center has the resources to help students find the perfect internship or grant to assist in their studies. Past interns/researchers have focused on topics like microfinance, education, and healthcare.
Social Venture Competition
- The ESR Center sponsors a social business plan competition called the Social Venture Competition. There is currently a $50,000 award for the top social venture ideas.
