Social Innovation Leadership Council

The Social Innovation Leadership Council (SILC) is a council comprised of BYU organizations that are seeking to solve social problems. The main purpose of the Council is to allow socially innovative organizations to communicate and collaborate with one other to increase social impact. SILC also seeks to help students connect to these organizations and to provide resources to help students make a difference.

Through SILC, organization presidents coordinate schedules, exchange resources, and receive special training to increase their organization's efficiency and effectiveness. In addition to the main body council made up of presidents of organizations, SILC has an Administrative Council that oversees the day-to-day operations of SILC. The Administrative Council has responsibilities such as advertising, web development, outreach, capacity building, and overall strategy development.

There are two ways to be involved with SILC:

1) Be a president (or designated representative) of a BYU organization that is seeking to solve a social problem, or

2) Serve in a leadership position (or committee position) on the SILC Administrative Council.
