Students for Social Innovation
About Students for Social Innovation

Students for Social Innovation (SSI) is a student-run professional services group that seeks to collaborate with visionary innovators to maximize the social impact that their ventures can achieve. Our students work in a diverse range of fields including, but not limited to corporate social responsibility, impact investing, social enterprise, venture philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. We operate via teams of student consultants that spend a semester working on a specific, pre-arranged project with a client. We combine these highly qualified and talented student teams with a proven training model and experienced leadership to develop sustainable strategies and solutions for our clients.
Student Requirements
Though there is no major requirement, SSI students are required to have a strong background in one of three areas: business, public relations/advertising, or web development. Each student undergoes a stringent application process which highlights his or her individual proficiencies, creativity and drive to succeed, after which a team is assembled according to the client’s specific needs. Admitted students participate in SSI through a three credit hour on-campus internship and are graded primarily on the successful completion of their project deliverables. Teams typically consist of 4-5 students with an expected time commitment of eight hours per week per student.
If you are interested in participating this upcoming semester, please complete the SSI Student Application and submit your resume to ssi.applications@gmail.com.
