SOA Professors Helping Set National Standards

Two SOA professors have been selected to fill important positions in the profession related to standard setting. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants appointed Professor Douglas Prawitt, who has been at BYU since 1993, to the Auditing Standards Board. Assistant Professor Jeffrey Wilks, who has been at BYU since 2000, has been selected to serve as an academic fellow to the Financial Accounting Standards Board.

Rubber Hits the Road for BYU Accounting Students

“Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!” Roughly 250 Marriott School accounting students recently participated in The Pit Crew Challenge, sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers. The team-building event took place Thursday and Friday, 8-9 September, in the Harmon Building parking lot and Saturday, 10 September, in the Wilkinson Student Center parking lot.
