Biography:

Marc Menden is Executive Director Strategy Planning and Operations, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain at General Motors, a position he has held since September 2020.

In this role, Menden is responsible for global raw materials, Strategy, Governance, Value Chain Engineering and Sustainability.

Menden is part of the Sustainability Office for General Motors driving the company’s overall vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion.

Prior to his current role, Menden was Vice President Global Purchasing and Supply Chain at General Motors South America, a position he started in November 2016.

Menden was responsible for direct and indirect material purchases, as well as all inbound and outbound logistics and supply chain activities for General Motors South America. General Motors is the market-share leader in South America, offering the Chevrolet Onix, the region’s top selling vehicle, with operations in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Prior to joining General Motors, Menden spend nine years in numerous purchasing and supply chain leadership roles with Honeywell, including Senior Director, Americas Procurement, Transportation Systems. He also led the corporate purchasing partnership of Indirect Procurement leaders in each of the four Strategic Business Groups. Menden was also responsible for Aerospace’s Americas Materials Execution for the Mechanical Operations & Service Centers where he led planning, procurement and materials movement at seven OEM and 10 aftermarket and repair and overhaul facilities. Menden also led factory scheduling, shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory management, and tactical procurement.

Prior to joining Honeywell in 2007, he spent 13 years at Ford Motor Company in a number of leadership and management roles including in the South America region.

Menden received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arizona. He earned Bachelor of Science in business management with an emphasis in finance from Brigham Young University.
