Biography:

Sam is a Research Consultant for the Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Previous to DHHS, Sam was the Program Manager of the State’s “Home Visiting Program” which serves low-income single mothers through the Utah Department of Health. Earlier in his career, Sam worked for the state fleet program, serving as Fleet Director from 2010 to 2014.

Sam completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Brigham Young University. His bachelor’s degree was in sociology, and his master’s degree was in Public Administration with the Romney Institute of Public Management. Sam is a certified divorce mediator and is active as a volunteer in services associated with refugees, including OneRefugee.org, Utah Valley Refugees, and African Girls Hope Foundation. Sam is married to Valerie Lee, and they have five children. The family has lived in Pleasant Grove since 2001.
