Biography:

Craig Smith is Group President at Marriott International, overseeing all non-North American operations for Marriott including the Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Caribbean & Latin America regions. Previously, also at Marriott International, he has worked as managing director for Asia Pacific and as president for the Caribbean and Latin America Region. Before those assignments, he was EVP and COO for Asia Pacific. He began his career with Marriott International, serving as general manager of properties in Brazil, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Peru before spearheading the company’s expansion into Asia. As the son of an ambassador/career diplomat, Craig grew up in Latin America and Eastern Europe. He earned his bachelor’s degree from BYU and multiple MBAs in three other countries. Craig and Maria Luisa have five children.
